Bacon_3 0 Posted May 21 Posted May 21 Also having the same issue, it’s been happening for months. Sad seeing there isn’t a fix yet. It closes 3-4 times per hour.
Feicstur 0 Posted June 9 Posted June 9 Still having this issue, agreed about how long this is taking to resolve. I jinxed us by finally paying for premium

After turning on music, walking away and not touching it, at about 30 minutes the log will say it disconnected and the AppleTV app will shutdown. To watch a complete movie, it seems like you have to keep giving it input with the remote. Sometimes with video, the shutdown will happen immediately after selecting something from the library. The app crashes, the show never plays on the TV, but the server will report that it started playing it and it will later show up in the "Continue watching" section with a minute or two watched. I swapped my router in the past week - the old one had started acting up a bit - and I haven't encountered problems with longer, uninterrupted playing sessions since changing the router. Might've been some setting on my router, but at the very least it seems like my issue was more of a networking problem than a software problem. 1
Jonathan1683 32 Posted Friday at 01:55 AM Posted Friday at 01:55 AM I get yelled at every hour watching tv when this crashes please send halp.
gustavson 0 Posted Friday at 11:05 AM Posted Friday at 11:05 AM I might have been the first to post about this, crazy still an issue after almost 4 months. Noticed in another thread someone said they disabled a certain type of subtitle and that seemed to have worked. I figured I’d try watching something without subtitles ( I watch everything with subs on ) and have been crash free since. I would get two crashes in a an hour long tv episode Not sure of this helps but thought I’d share just in case
Eliran 7 Posted Friday at 11:09 AM Author Posted Friday at 11:09 AM Hi, I was the one who started this thread , I heard about this subtitle issue , but why would we compromise our viewing experience, it’s weird that EMBY doesn’t care or do anything about it , absolutely no response from them, I had to switch to Plex , same setup just diffrent app works perfect so it’s definitely EMBY issue go ahead and fix it already If plex had a built it tracker sync (don’t like the 3rd party bs) I would move and never look back, all you paying guys don’t feel cheated ?

However, I'm not great with the bilingual stuff so I do require subs from time to time but then the viewing experience kind of suck. I have also tried alternatives, the grass isn't always greener on the other side.
gustavson 0 Posted Friday at 12:27 PM Posted Friday at 12:27 PM Agree on not compromising , just saying based on what I am seeing my issue is subtitle related. Also, I am only having issues using the Emby atv client, no problems with vidhub or infuse. I switched over to Emby right before this started and wanted to see how this issue was dealt with before I paid for 3rd party clients or Emby premium
skipistensau 0 Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Hi guys, I’ve had similar experiences. Movies or series with subtitles take a very long time to start or cause the app to crash sporadically. The Emby app crashes sporadically while watching Live TV. Unfortunately, 4K HLG 50fps HEVC Live TV content doesn't play smoothly on the Apple TV; it stutters constantly. I’ve also noticed that if I change the Apple TV resolution to 1080p and play a 4K Live TV channel, it runs significantly better. The Emby dashboard shows the stream playing in 4K, and my IPTV panel confirms this. However, FHD Live TV also works very well at times; watching for two hours is sometimes possible, though it’s a bit of a gamble.
