Apparently this is a known issue. There might be an up to date comment, somewhere on Amazon FireOS support. I don't think this failure is that surprising with FireOS. I can imagine a built in timeout to not continue a remote data link after a certain amount of time, because perhaps something has to be stored in cache to make sure the timeline location can work and this may cause other conflicts with FireOS data traffic or cause a stuck process. So, designing in a time to forget for a remote connection might be a built in choice for FireOS. - Just a guess. Rebooting the device, restarting the app, or toggling the screen saver timeout can help prevent this behavior. https://external-content.duckduckgo.com/ip3/www.amazonforum.com.ico amazonforum.comhttps://external-content.duckduckgo.com/ip3/amazonforum.my.site.com.ico amazonforum.my.site.com Issue with Firestick Forgetting Media Timeline Users have reported that Fire TV devices, including the Firestick, sometimes fail to remember the last watched episode of a show. Instead of resuming from where you left off, the device may start playback from the beginning. Common Causes Device Reboot: Restarting the Firestick can sometimes resolve playback issues. App Glitches: Specific apps may not save playback positions correctly. Screen Saver Activation: The screen saver may interfere with the playback memory. Suggested Solutions Solution Description Restart the Firestick Unplug the device, wait a few seconds, and plug it back in. Alternatively, use the remote to restart. Restart the App Close and reopen the app you are using to ensure it functions properly. Adjust Screen Saver Settings Set the screen saver timeout to a longer duration or disable it temporarily. Additional Tips Ensure your Firestick is updated to the latest software version. Check if the app has any specific settings for saving playback positions. If the issue persists across multiple apps, it may indicate a broader device problem. By following these steps, you may improve the Firestick's ability to remember your media timeline.
