Betonhaus 18 Posted January 29 Posted January 29 The preroll works fine, but any content i try to play just fails to lode eventually giving me an error. I have a Intel Arc a380 on the server handling embyserver.txt so I don't get why things aren't working ffmpeg-transcode-07a448ec-7284-4ad2-aa77-dabf7a55f20e_1.txt ffmpeg-transcode-68ef22fc-2d1c-4df3-9154-6a2d03a4e2a9_1.txt ffmpeg-transcode-86b3dd01-4834-438f-9a9a-9efae3463447_1.txt ffmpeg-transcode-90a79e81-a6d6-49f6-b752-d6f67f1cc58c_1.txt ffmpeg-transcode-163f4097-7509-4fda-b2b5-59b13591bbb7_1.txt ffmpeg-transcode-78235314-111d-41bf-827d-2800823cc7f3_1.txt ffmpeg-transcode-d4c521ca-ac0a-42a9-8eaa-b7b7a64fbe52_1.txt ffmpeg-transcode-f0bdcd46-536f-4099-840c-09d8cc2136ef_1.txt ffmpeg-transcode-f362e079-06d1-46bb-83b6-9b6e0440a0b2_1.txt
Betonhaus 18 Posted February 2 Author Posted February 2 Exact same thing, exact same problems. This has been a continual problem with all browsers, either desktop or mobile. Either the server side transcoding is shit or the website doesn't properly convert what codecs are supported.
Betonhaus 18 Posted February 4 Author Posted February 4 While messing with the trans coding settings I re-enabled "allow extracting subtitles on the fly" which immediately fixed it in the browsers, but then broke it in devices like the google TV that couldn't handle heavy embedded fonts. That leads me to wonder if Emby has some bugs in it's subtitle burning components.

Thanks! Hello, can you clarify what part of that my first post is missing? This is an issue that is repeatable across different browsers and different OSs. If there is any other relevant information not contained in the logs, let me know and i can provide it, but I'm not a mind reader and short of a data dump of every device on my network i can't be guaranteed to provide what information you're looking for if you don't provide examples or a direction. ffmpeg-transcode-11d12751-f68f-41b5-ab4f-8c14c32f582c_1.txt ffmpeg-transcode-392a2c02-b9f6-4353-8218-cc3987f4762a_1.txt embyserver-63905500800.txt ffmpeg-transcode-61a6d8a8-3ff4-4e8d-a3c8-2a18c030f182_1.txt ffmpeg-transcode-bab62538-bc50-42fb-b151-31451a1cbbdf_1.txt ffmpeg-transcode-d59146dd-8e26-4aad-92b4-a8ead554784a_1.txt ffmpeg-transcode-e1bca117-d0a7-4675-9c57-5ffe1c83c16b_1.txt ffmpeg-transcode-aaaa20d8-f500-44ce-9529-3d5b13cc76a0_1.txt ffmpeg-transcode-9497f40a-1995-4f4f-ba21-46be02f11c6f_1.txt embyserver.txt ffmpeg-transcode-de5bfd1a-175c-43e7-8b63-7d1a92c1f476_1.txt ffmpeg-transcode-3ecbfd0a-51d4-4f27-8e1c-0698c4da79dc_1.txt ffmpeg-transcode-5f62801a-3050-4326-b869-5e73d704ac92_1.txt ffmpeg-transcode-8ca6e341-3296-470c-b1d7-11c7ca386888_1.txt ffmpeg-transcode-67a18f5d-d2ee-4609-ad7e-b7e9597b5ded_1.txt ffmpeg-transcode-50884277-b35b-4aa3-a4bf-970e33c2451b_1.txt ffmpeg-transcode-ceb5929a-59bb-4332-bfdd-80dc7c89ea4a_1.txt
Solution Luke 42077 Posted February 7 Solution Posted February 7 HI, did you turn off on the fly subtitle extraction in server transcoding settings? Can you try turning that back on?
Betonhaus 18 Posted February 7 Author Posted February 7 It helps, but then the Google TV stops working. I was busy with a move but tomorrow I'll try to put together a table of what settings breaks which clients. Does transcoding not work properly if /dev/dri/renderD129 is passed to the container but not /dev/dri/renderD128? D128 is dedicated to a Windows VM and is not available for transcoding
Betonhaus 18 Posted February 7 Author Posted February 7 I need to sit down and pull out all the devices to check, but it's going to be annoying if it turns out my problems were due to a workaround for a problem that had been patched like a year or two ago and I had just given up on trying to fix. 1
Betonhaus 18 Posted February 8 Author Posted February 8 When Subtitle Extraction is enabled: Web browser works, all web browsers and subtitles work fine after a short delay Google TV clients struggle with subtitles and become a slideshow when there is heavy subtitle use Emby Theatre for Windows is unable to play subtitles Emby beta for Linux works fine When Subtitle Extraction is disabled: Web browsers will show a loading wheel for a while before erroring out. all web browsers, both on Linux and Windows Google TV and Roku devices work properly Emby Theatre for Windows runs fine Emby Beta for Linux runs fine I did post my configuration info on the docker page in case I had made an obvious mistake. I reattempted to watch an episode of Trigun Stampede in a web browser with subtitle extraction disabled and here are the log files. it created three transcode logs from the attempt. Web browser and Linux beta was attempted from a local network, google tv and the windows client from outside the network. It seems that whenever transcoding is required the subtitles do not get added to the transcode even if set to. 13 minutes ago, Betonhaus said: Does this seem like it's set up fine? Betonhaus 18 Posted February 8 Author Posted February 8 if it helps I can provide a temporary account to access my server for direct testing and DM it to you
Betonhaus 18 Posted February 8 Author Posted February 8 would transcoding work better if I install the Emby server directly instead of using a docker image?
Betonhaus 18 Posted February 8 Author Posted February 8 can backup and restore be used even if the paths to the media libraries are different? like if the original docker has them in /media but the new baremetal server has them on /mnt/pool/media?
Betonhaus 18 Posted February 8 Author Posted February 8 no, there isn't any improvements running it on baremetal
Luke 42077 Posted yesterday at 06:07 AM Posted yesterday at 06:07 AM Hi, are you still having an issue with this?
