ViktorDomnikov 3 Posted January 1 Posted January 1 (edited) Hello. Sorry, I am bad in English, but I will try to describe my problem. I updated my Emby server on TrueNAS and also updated Emby for LG WebOS to v1.0.49. When I play some videos, Emby server loads the processor TrueNAS. Earlier I used other version of Emby for LG WebOS, and everything was great. I have old LG TV, but other version of Emby for LG was working great, it meens that my TV can play this videos fine. Luke 42077 Posted January 3 Posted January 3 Hi, this is all transcoding due to opus audio. We had to disable this due to LG TV's not handling it very well. But this change is actually not new. It was made over a year ago, so probably in a 1.0.3X release. @SamEScan comment more. But we can always revisit it or add an option to control it.
Solution SamES 1056 Posted January 3 Solution Posted January 3 Your B8 TV should be a 2018 model. I think the webOS version you reference is a firmware version number rather than the webOS version. I think it is actually webOS 4.0 or maybe 4.5 For reference, this is the officially ‘supported’ codecs from LG for that model. https://webostv.developer.lge.com/develop/specifications/video-audio-40 It doesn’t mean that other formats don’t work, but they’re not on the official list. As Luke mentioned, we have had trouble with Opus, FLAC and some other formats where there is a very wide variation on what works and what doesn’t. While they were enabled at one time, the number of issues we spent time investigating made it clear that the support for these formats is not reliable, so the decision was made to not support them for direct play. You should not see a significant impact with the audio streams being converted, and it is overall a better experience than having files that won’t play or play with missing audio.
ViktorDomnikov 3 Posted January 3 Author Posted January 3 Thank you guys for your answers. I will be downloading video (or converting) with supported codecs. 1
