JustEddy 0 Posted December 11, 2025 Posted December 11, 2025 I'm running Emby 4.9.1.90 and am experiencing the exact same problem. Emby never shows up in the list of "connected apps" (https://trakt.tv/oauth/authorized_applications). I get the PIN from Trakt, paste it in Emby, tap/click Save (I've tried from both desktop as well as the app) and nothing happens... the Trakt OAuth screen never advances and Emby never appears in Trakt's Connected apps list.

JustEddy 0 Posted December 24, 2025 Author Posted December 24, 2025 I'm running Emby 4.9.1.90 and am experiencing problems with the Trakt plugin. Note that the Trakt integration did work previously but it stopped updating several months ago but I didn't notice that data in Trakt was stale until recently. While attempting to get it reconnected, I deleted "Emby" from Trakt's list of "connected apps" (https://trakt.tv/oauth/authorized_applications) But now, Emby never re-appears in the list of "connected apps". I get the PIN from Trakt, copy/paste it in to Emby, tap/click Save (I've tried from both desktop as well as the app) and nothing happens... the Trakt OAuth screen never advances and Emby never appears in Trakt's Connected apps list. From the logs: 2025-12-11 15:24:11.663 Info TaskManager: Executing Export Library to Trakt 2025-12-11 15:24:11.664 Info Trakt: Syncing user data for Me 2025-12-11 15:24:12.864 Info HttpClient: POST https://api.trakt.tv/oauth/token 2025-12-11 15:24:13.077 Info HttpClient: Http response 400 from https://api.trakt.tv/oauth/token after 213ms 2025-12-11 15:24:13.081 Error Trakt: Error in SyncUserData When I try to update the PIN, the only thing that gets logged is: 2025-12-11 15:34:16.278 Info BaseItem: Updating trakt user, reset pin info: True I've tried multiple times, and with a different Emby account. Any suggestions on how to get things reconnected (and resynced)?
Luke 42085 Posted December 26, 2025 Posted December 26, 2025 Hi there, please attach the Emby server log from when the problem occurred: How to Report a Problem Thanks!
JustEddy 0 Posted January 14 Author Posted January 14 Here's the log file. I attempted to reconnect to Trakt three separate times. embyserver.txt
r0gu3ptm 0 Posted February 2 Posted February 2 (edited) Same problem here too. Exactly same errors. LE: this is what trakt support told me: Hi, thanks for reaching out! Your account is a VIP on our end and it is fine. We recently changed some of our API permissions and rules, so please contact the developers of Emby, since they probably haven’t updated it correctly yet. Please let me know if you have any more questions! So in this case, the plugin needs updating. This is my understanding. Edited February 2 by r0gu3ptm
r0gu3ptm 0 Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago A little bit of update: my emby just reconnected to trakt, updated the seen shows. And no, I have not done anything to it, just changed the pin and did a library sync. Not sure what happened here.
JustEddy 0 Posted 3 hours ago Author Posted 3 hours ago (edited) I just tried again (requested a new Trakt PIN) and "Emby" still doesn't show up in Trakt's list of authorized applications (https://trakt.tv/oauth/authorized_applications). The Trakt PIN screen just sits at "Return to the app and enter this PIN to connect your account" screen. Until Emby shows up as an authorized app, pretty sure there's zero chance of any syncing. r0gu3ptm 0 Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Mine is even showing what I'm currently playing, and yes, does show up in authorized apps too. I have no idea what happened, but it works.
