How to Batch Edit Special Episode Airing Rules

Where is the “aired after episode” information for special episodes stored?
Is there a way to modify it in bulk?

I initially wanted to batch-edit the NFO files with a script to accomplish this, but I couldn’t find any corresponding data at all.

Hi, have you enabled nfo file saving for this library? They will be these values:

• airsbefore_episode
• airsafter_season
• airsbefore_season

I had checked it from the beginning, and indeed multiple NFO files were generated under the media folder. However, whether it’s the NFO of a special episode for which I’ve already set playback rules, the NFO of the main episode referenced by the special episode, the tvshow.nfo, or the corresponding season.nfo, I haven’t been able to find the relevant field in any of them. To be precise, in which file is it actually saved?

HI, it would be in the episode nfo file. Try going to one of these episodes in the metadata editor and just click save, then check the nfo file for it. That should give you an example to look at.

I found it! They’re inside the corresponding individual episodes of the specials—thanks! However, their names should be:

<displayepisode>6</displayepisode>
<displayseason>1</displayseason>

which is a bit different from what you mentioned, but thanks anyway!

I'm sorry you are right. We use those values in the nfo.

The airsbefore, airsafter values are legacy. Thanks.
