Redgoose 1 Posted December 5, 2025 Posted December 5, 2025 (edited) Hello, I'm running Emby 4.9.1.90 on my Synology running DSM 7.3.1. I have about 250 shows, that work perfectly in the library. However I have an old Belgian show called "Aspe" that isn't recognised. It is in TVDB with ID 81915. I checked the permissions on the folder, but it's the same as all the other shows. Naming aswell seems to be the same as some other shows I have, so I can't see what could be wrong with it. Only thing is, all my other shows are .mkv files, only this one is .mp4. Unfortunately I can't find another quality, but it's OK for an old show. If I browse to the folder using Kodi, it works and plays. However the Emby library (which I use with the Kodi addon to fill Kodi's library aswell) doesn't pick it up. In my setup every show has it's own rootfolder, every season has it's own folder within that season root. For this show it is: Aspe\Season 01\Aspe S01E01 - De Midasmoorden.mp4 .... .... Aspe\Season 10\Aspe S10E13 - De duivel en de maagd (deel 2).mp4 Based on some posts on the forum I tried with no luck: renaming the root folder to "Aspe (2004) [tvdbid=81915]" Creating a new folder and reset the permissions Renamed the show to "Aspe.S01E01.De.Midasmoorden.mp4" Trying ro read attached log file to see if it gives some clue embyserver.txt Edited December 5, 2025 by Redgoose

Redgoose 1 Posted December 5, 2025 Author Posted December 5, 2025 I just noticed. I added another Dutch show (tvdb ID 321148 called "Klem") and it isn't added either. New episodes from existing shows however are added, using the same name convention. Is there maybe a maximum to the number of shows that can be in the library or is it because it are dutch/belgian series? Never had any issues before with other dutch series.
Luke 42077 Posted December 6, 2025 Posted December 6, 2025 HI, did you notice this in your log? System.UnauthorizedAccessException: System.UnauthorizedAccessException: Access to the path '/volume1/Series/The Stand (1994)' is denied. Perhaps the same thing happened with the Aspe folder?
Redgoose 1 Posted December 7, 2025 Author Posted December 7, 2025 (edited) Hi Luke, No, hadn't noticed that one. I corrected it. That specific show indeed had the wrong group on it. Unfortunately the shows I talked about are correct (at least it seems to me). They are identical to the other shows that are working as expected. The permission is set to allow all as you will see in the screenprint (in dutch, sorry). Owner, Group and Others are allowed all. The owner and group are set the same aswell (my admin account and the default user-group). Edited December 7, 2025 by Redgoose
Luke 42077 Posted December 8, 2025 Posted December 8, 2025 How did you setup the libraries in Emby library setup?
Solution Redgoose 1 Posted December 11, 2025 Author Solution Posted December 11, 2025 (edited) I found the issue. It was a networking / firewalling /routing issue because of a failed primary connection. Sorry for the inconvenience. Strangely enough it did allow for the existing mapped shows to be seen over the secondary connection, but new folders weren't. reactivating the primary connection did the trick.
