Some series folders not detected and not shown (anymore)

tl;dr:
Some of my Series are recently not shown and presumably the folder is not even detected anymore.
All filters are cleared / deactivated, the whole server rescanned all files (multiple times) and most of the libraries redownloaded the metadata. Emby server restarted. Changed the names of the folders and redone all previous steps. Still nothing.

In long:

I noticed very recently that some series, that I watched some time ago and which I therefore know were detected and identified correctly, are not shown in emby anymore. This must have happened since one of the most recent server versions, which I mostly install usually in 2-3 days after release. That I presume, because I watched Solo Leveling a second time in September/October.

In my library "Animes" two series don't show up as identified series nor as a folder anymore:

Solo Leveling from 2024 and
Re Zero [...] from 2016

Even if the identification of the series wouldn't work, I would presume the folder to show up like "One Pace" and "Onigashima- Paced" in the folders view (filters deactivated and ordered by title):

To be able to cross-check here how the library looks on storage:

For Solo Leveling you're not seeing it as it's a season folder (S01) - Each TV show needs to have its own folder, having season folders only is not supported.

TV Naming

Etiher rename that folder (dumping "S01") or create series folder and movie it within.

As for ReZero, that one appears correctly named, without server log it's s hard to tell what's happening.

You could try:

1) Move ReZero folder out of your Anime root

2) Scan media library to clear the db

3) Run Rotate log file scheduled task

4) Delete existing NFO files from ReZero folder (if any)

5) Move it back under Anime folder

6) Scan media library

7) Post server log

Well, it "was" identified correctly in earlier emby versions, because the S01 was behind a hyphen ( - ). Normally I'm able to put some additional information behind a Hyphen, typically some season related stuff.
But I tested anyway with your remark in mind, but it didn't help - It would have baffled me, since other series folders are well identified as long as a "S1" or "Season 1" is behind a hyphen.

Thats how it looks on storage now, but no improvement in the folders view of emby after two rescans (one specific library scan and one global scan):

I'll try it when I wake up later. Here it's 2.20 am.
Thanks for your support and I will come back to you.

Kind regards

That was likely coincidental - or the Dev added some support for mish-mash folder structures. Hyphen in TV show folders (nor anywhere else except multi-version movie filenames) makes no difference nor it is used as a delimiter anywhere. If it worked for you - great, but as with any scenario where one's using unsupported features: the fact that it worked previously is by no means a guarantee that it'd work always.

Anyway, as previously stated:

Hi, I get your stance and I'm not saying I want it back that old way. I'm trying to understand if and what changed, so I can change it appropriately, so that my series appears again. ;)

I created a server log and attached it. Thanks for helping.

Edit: If you need more, just tell me. :)

Tbh, nothing stands out in that log,, both of those shows were fully processed, probed, correct episodes queried with the providers etc... Odd.

Do you maybe have any access restrictions in place? Parental Ratings or Tag-based? Do you maybe have those same shows in some other library?

If you search for Solo Leveling  or Re:Zero in your server, are you getting any hits?

No parental configuration was done by me, because it's my Server and I'm the only user, but with multiple devices (I love the sync features and the organization).
Filters were cleared. Are there any other way to restrict based on tags?

I'll check anyway.

The Search doesn't get any correct hits. A lot of other things were "Solo" or "leveling" are found but not the right thing.

It's as if the two series aren't processed / catalogued.

EDIT:
You were spot on with the parental control:

It was some parental control setting, that I don't know how it got there:
It was configured to have this (seems like its the most mature configuration apart from having it empty):

image.png.a029b898466085d3a4f7323f3557b5af.png

but it seems, that the two affected series would not match herein.

After deleting the configuration, the two shows appeared again

Thank you so much - i went nuts for finding the cause.

Have A Nice One.
