Suliamu 36 Posted November 20, 2025 Posted November 20, 2025 Hey there, unfortunately i ran into another problem after updating to 4.9. Before, when a new emby update was released, i did the following: On Linux i went to "/opt/emby-server/system/dashboard-ui/modules/themes/" and copied black/theme.css over dark/theme.css . This made the default color for everyone black, without having to go into options, instead of the default dark. Unfortunately this does no longer work after 4.9, neither in "TVmode", nor in normal mode. When i change in the options to "dark", it unfortunately doesn't get the black theme. It's displaying the dark theme nonetheless even tho the orginal files aren't available anymore in "/opt/emby-server/system/dashboard-ui/modules/themes/dark". I restarted server and clients multiple time in order to get rid of cache and so on, i also copied the other bits from the "black"-directory into the "dark"-directory, such as "black/theme_tv.css" & black/theme_nontv.css", but unfortunately this did not work. Was there some change so that the css has to be changed also at another place in the directory structure maybe? Does somebody have maybe an idea? Or is there maybe another way to make a "default"-theme for everyone besides the default dark? Thanks a lot in advance
Solution Happy2Play 9780 Posted November 20, 2025 Solution Posted November 20, 2025 Sorry I don't follow as I just renamed dark and cloned/copied black and renamed to dark. Only thing that I can think of may be browser cache. 1

And this works for you? I have so many funny problems after the update which no one can reproduce that i am going to do a full server reinstall before bothering someone again here in this forum. Thanks for trying this out for me. Have a nice day
