MovieGeek 0 Posted November 15, 2025 Posted November 15, 2025 After the last update to Version 4.9.1.80, my meta data seems to have gotten corrupted for some movies. I had to refresh many of them to get the right movies/images back. Today, while going through the list, I noticed a few movies missing. Example would be: Lethal Weapon (I have all 4 movies), but only 2, 3, and 4 showed up. 1 was completely missing and didn't show up in search either (see screenshots). Another example is Top Gun. I have both Top Gun and Top Gun Maverick, but only the 2nd (Maverick) shows up. The permissions are correct and the movies are there. $ ls -l /media/ls210db51/Movies/Action/Lethal\ Weapon* '/media/ls210db51/Movies/Action/Lethal Weapon': total 1048576 -rwxr-xr-x 1 emby emby 1009991793 Mar 4 2022 'Lethal Weapon.m4v' '/media/ls210db51/Movies/Action/Lethal Weapon 2': total 786432 -rwxr-xr-x 1 emby emby 772202796 Mar 12 2022 'Lethal Weapon 2.m4v' '/media/ls210db51/Movies/Action/Lethal Weapon 3': total 1048576 -rwxr-xr-x 1 emby emby 961658064 Mar 12 2022 'Lethal Weapon 3.m4v' '/media/ls210db51/Movies/Action/Lethal Weapon 4': total 1179648 -rwxr-xr-x 1 emby emby 1142975716 Mar 12 2022 'Lethal Weapon 4.m4v' $ ls -l /media/ls210db51/Movies/Action/Top\ Gun* '/media/ls210db51/Movies/Action/Top Gun': total 786432 -rwxr-xr-x 1 emby emby 683239480 Aug 11 12:41 'Top Gun.mp4' '/media/ls210db51/Movies/Action/Top Gun Maverick': total 786432 -rwxr-xr-x 1 emby emby 719341896 Aug 30 11:01 'Top Gun Maverick.mp4' I've already tried vacuum database, re-scan library, re-scan meta data, removing the library and re-adding. Nothing seems to work. Before the corruption, all movies showed up. A new version is now available, but I'm leary of installing it at this point as I do not want to make the problem worse. Thank you
Luke 42077 Posted November 16, 2025 Posted November 16, 2025 Hi, did you try clicking into the other lethal weapons to see if they might have gotten merged as multi-version?
MovieGeek 0 Posted November 16, 2025 Author Posted November 16, 2025 Hello Luke, Thank you for responding. I'm not sure what you mean by multi-version... I clicked on Lethal Weapon 2, 3 and 4 movies, and each only has one movie in it. I started playing them and each one is the version it is supposed to be. Thanks
GrimReaper 4739 Posted November 16, 2025 Posted November 16, 2025 Can you share a screenshot of Top Gun Maverick detail view? And if you're willing, screenshots of all three Lethal Weapon movies?
Solution MovieGeek 0 Posted November 16, 2025 Author Solution Posted November 16, 2025 (edited) Hi GrimReaper, I've attached them here. I think I see what you mean. There's a Split Versions button on Lethal Weapon 2, that isn't on Lethal Weapon 3 or 4. Also Top Gun Maverick has a Split Version button. Is this what is meany by multi-version? I'll try to split one now and see if that does the trick or what I think it will do. Why does this happen and is there a way to go through all movies (other than one at a time) to see if there are more? Thanks Edited November 16, 2025 by MovieGeek Forgot to include images

Yes. 13 minutes ago, MovieGeek said: I'll try to split one now and see if that does the trick or what I think it will do. You'll have two versions of each, re-Identify incorrectly identified one (check the path in item detail view). 13 minutes ago, MovieGeek said: Why does this happen Because you're not following recommended naming convention: Movie Naming and have at least a (Year) in the folder name - that'll greatly assist with identifying,, else you're bound to face issues like the ones you're currently facing (at least to a greater degree, as even a (Year) in folder name is not a guarantee - only ProviderIDs/ID tags in folder names are). There is a Filter for "Duplicates" in your library view - that'll show you all movies that have more than one version. Edited November 16, 2025 by GrimReaper

Where is the Filter for Duplicates in the library view? I'm not seeing it in there.

Luke 42077 Posted November 17, 2025 Posted November 17, 2025 Are you saying you have a lot of duplicates?
