TV Series/Season Shows as Played, can't be Marked UnPlayed

I've got several series/seasons that are marked as Played.  None of the episodes are played or only some are.  When I check the Mark Unplayed check mark or go into the menu to do the same, it reverts to played almost immediately.  There is no unplayed count regardless of whether or not some or none have been played.  I would say this is an issue with about half of the shows in my library.

Could've sworn I tried this already.  I refreshed the Metadata for the show with the selection to replace all metadata, all the playstates came back properly.  Sorry to bother you, but now others know.  Only done it for individual shows.
