bungee91 133 Posted November 2, 2025 Posted November 2, 2025 I've never understood this, but for some reason a series recording for NFL Football set from the guide as a series recording never records the Chicago Bears games! I had thought it was due to having a keyword recording that may overlap with this Series recording for "Bears" for episode title and also "Bears" for Series Title, however I had removed the one that used to work for that (I believe it was "Bears" as episode title) removed the NFL football series as well and reestablished, however it still didn't record their games. Attached is an Emby Server log from prior to me manually setting the game to record, and then after I manually selected and set the recording in the guide to record. I still have a strong suspicion this is a keyword recording fighting a series recording leading to the issue. However, regardless if I delete one or both and reestablish one, it is inconsistent. If so, how it should work: I don't care if I have 10 different ways an episode should record, it should record and not skip it. If this were the case and the settings were different (length after/before, etc..) one must be selected in order to be successful and not just skip the recording. embyserver - after manual record selection.txt embyserver - before manual record selection.txt
Luke 42077 Posted November 2, 2025 Posted November 2, 2025 Quote I had thought it was due to having a keyword recording that may overlap Right I don't think this is it either.
Luke 42077 Posted November 2, 2025 Posted November 2, 2025 How do they appear in the guide vs other games? Any differences there?

It works for me (I add 60 minutes of extra padding). you can see what games are scheduled at the bottom..
bungee91 133 Posted November 3, 2025 Author Posted November 3, 2025 I don't believe so, the main listing is still showing NFL Football. This next game at this time the series recording is planning to record it. So, let's see how that goes. I've also seen these games in that series listing screen with them listed but marked to not record. This is why I'm still considering it being a keyword conflict. More to come as I get more data as the games are aired.

That is how the NFL Football series was established, and that is why it is completely puzzling. It will exclude the Chicago Bears more often than not. Edited November 3, 2025 by bungee91

I've always had a keyword for "Bears" in both the episode title and title to catch random shows. I also have an NFL Football series recording that should work for all NFL Football games. I've tested removing the keyword recordings, and the NFL Football series recording, and then re-establishing only the NFL Football series recording, and it still didn't work reliably. I believe it would see these games but set them to not record, regardless of the series settings. It's been a while since I tried different things to resolve.
Luke 42077 Posted November 3, 2025 Posted November 3, 2025 Yea it's odd, they must have a different series id in the program data.

Alright so I have more information, and almost a week to get to the bottom of this! Current Status: The NFL Football Series recording is not recording the Chicago Bears games. Attachments: 1 Showing the NFL Football series recording schedule that is missing the Chicago Bears Game 2 The Scheduled Recording screen with the game not scheduled (likely not needed) 3 The Chicago Bears game listing screen in the guide that is not currently set to record with the title "NFL Football". 4 The "Bears" Episode Title keyword recording screen. This one is interesting because it has no results for anything coming up, which is untrue! I still think having this is causing an error for it to not record under the "NFL Football" Series recording. However (!), I have removed it before and swear the NFL Football series still doesn't record the Chicago Bears games. I think then it sees them in the results, but sets them to not record. I don't want to make any changes to this now, as it will then break the troubleshooting side of this. Also attached is the most recent server log. Uncertain it is needed. Confused! embyserver (2).txt Edited November 10, 2025 by bungee91
Solution Luke 42077 Posted November 11, 2025 Solution Posted November 11, 2025 Hi, if you uncheck the "don't record..." option, does that make a difference?

Strange, however grateful to know that was causing the issue. I would think that option being selected should still show it in the results, however as not recording (if true, not the case here minus potential bad guide results), but that's just an opinion of my expectation of the setting and the listed results. Either way, thank you!
Luke 42077 Posted November 14, 2025 Posted November 14, 2025 Hi, yes we'll take a look at that. Thanks.
