I keep getting error 153: video player configuration error when trying to play any trailer. This on all my devices using the universal android app (google tv, tablet, phone). trailers work fine on the android tv app and emby server. I would have taken a screen shot but it just blinks on and off.

Hi all.

I also have this issue on my nvidia shield. I click trailer and get a YouTube error code 15.

dame with my iOS device running on the same wireless network (iOS 26 and Emby 2.2.44 build 1)

I swap to 5G and trailers work so I’m assuming it some kind of adblocking / firewall on my network I need to figure out.

trailers on my Apple TV (tvOS 26)work fine.

Same docker install that all devices stream from so very weird. (I know the TestFlight versions seems to always causes issues if you are running them)

just a thought after typing this i bet if you connect to 8096 it all unencrypted and will cause issues

Suspect Youtube AI tracking control for age limitations for younger viewers/
https://github.com/sarbagyastha/youtube_player_flutter/issues/1112

The YoutubePlayerParams origin parameter default value is https://www.youtube.com.
Browser session: Redefining this to https://www.youtube-nocookie.com will allow it to function correctly.

This was suggested as a fix to be added to the a .js for trailer playback.  I have no idea which .js file that may be?

youtubePlayerController = YoutubePlayerController(
        params: const YoutubePlayerParams(
          origin: 'https://www.youtube-nocookie.com', // use 'https://www.youtube-nocookie.com'
          interfaceLanguage: 'ko',
        ),
      );

HI, try uninstalling and reinstalling the app and see if that helps.

Yea something similar was reported with the Samsung app. We are embedding the official youtube sdk and it must be keeping some data that eventually causes this problem. That's why clearing app data resolves it. Hopefully this will not be a long term problem.

What is the preferred app for nvidia shield? I see two here one called Emby and one called Emby for android tv?

I’ve installed Emby and trailers work and seems faster and more options over the Emby for android TV

For what it's worth, I get Error Code 15 trying to watch trailers within the Emby for Android TV app on my nVidia Shield Pro - have been for the last few months. Clearing cache, uninstalling/re-installing doesn't help. Even the Emby for Android doesn't work, although it gets Error 153.

On my Android phone using Emby for Android 3.5.12, trailers just flash and go back to the movie screen. I enabled logging and see this:

Seems related to the Error Code 15 on the nVidia...

Maybe try clearing app data. But yes this YouTube embedding is finicky.

We want them to work too.

Yes.. Emby for Android TV on my Sony TV.. is also displaying that error 15 message...

Every trailer does not display at all in my Sony TV, everywhere else is working.

I really hope that you solve this very soon!

Thanks.

Another for what it's worth... Today on my Nvidia Shield Pro, I force stopped, cleared cache and cleared data on Emby for Android TV and it didn't help at all. Still error 15 with any trailers.

Didn't try with the universal app, honestly can't stand it - it's too flashy blinky zoomy for my liking.

Really hope this gets resolved soon on the Android TV app.

Just chiming in here. Have error code 15 as well, started a few weeks ago on my Nvidia Shield + Emby Android TV App. Was working fine before then.

Tried the Emby for Android App, and it just seems to try to start the youtube trailer, blinks a black screen and goes back to the Emby for Android app. No error or anything.

Tried to turn on logging for the Emby for Android app, and it's not writing any log files

Trailers don't work for me on all devices in Universal Android app and Android TV app, and in web ui don't work.

I cleared the cache and data, it didn't help.

Both of my NVIDIA Shields have the same problem.

Does this also delete my setup data in the Emby app?
