Can't figure out the new Emby

I've been using Emby Server on my computer to stream movies to my TV via a Roku. It's been working fine for years. All of a sudden, it disappeared on my computer. I never uninstalled it...it just vanished yesterday. It's not running anymore and there is no trace of it.

So, I downloaded the latest version (I assume) off the emby website and went to install it. It starts the install and about half way through, it stops. I try over and over again to install it and nothing happens. How can I fix this?

Literally everywhere on the computer. It just vanished. It used to run in my system tray and if it crashed, I could just find it via the start menu. No more. It's like I totally uninstalled it when I didn't. Now it won't re-install when I download the new copy. Maybe I'm downloading the wrong thing?

I went to that link but I don't understand what to do. Am I supposed to download or install something from there?

Just click here: embyserver-win-x64-4.9.1.80.7z, download and extract to location of your choosing, run embyserver.exe from extracted folder.

That is default server installation path under Windows. You can check on your OS do you still have your original Emby-Server folder present at that location.

Instead of portable I would just install from the website on top of your existing version. Hopefully you still have the server data folder intact.

OP stated installation is repeatedly getting stuck, hence suggestion for portable and/or system folder overwrite.
