ERROR- Emby server not starting . need help in restarting? configuration?

**Quick synopsis **

emby died today.  first couldn't find my log files

• (found log files:  error was missing file:  \dashboard-ui\index.html' could not be found.

found it, and copied from another drive

•  dated 09-30-24-t1710pm (index.html) from a different drive before I installed /upgraded the hardware

Now I hang at the URL: http://localhost:8096/web/index.html?start=wizard#!/wizard/wizardstart.html

And I am at least hanging at the EMBY login screen 

NEXT I found an old copy of the wizardstart.html file and got slightly further

but it also hung after I selected english

 

One problem I have is i don't see any logs from before today when I was having problems.

can someone give me another nudge in the right direction to help troubleshoot this?

HI, I would try shutting down emby server. Then install the server again from our website on top of your existing version.

Will try a full reinstall now

Yes, before trying the stuff above, I did the following:

• logged off windows
• restarted windows
• same error message on server
• tried a restore point from previous day (auto-updates)
• same errors, found logs, went thru steps above 

 

if not, will the install log from a few years ago be helpful?

Worked fine, but..

libraries restored fine, but I am not getting all of the images I previously had 

but (what option do I need to use to re-scan all of the images?)

(emby works, and updates so well, I dont go into control panel very often!)
