With the new prod release, is a full emby scan required ?

I removed the scheduled tasks for full scans many years back as I use autoscan container that just does it as needed (implemented many years back when there were issues with real time scanning - and it has not missed a beat.

Now I see lots of posts of people saying full scan issue, metadata missing and other stuff.

Does the new release 'need' a full scan for some sort of new functionality ?

Non issue in the end - took 11m to complete - no visible issues in my media.

Media library scanning is very slow, even when there are no other tasks running in the background.

Not for me - they are fast.  But I disabled it again as auto scan does the job for me.
