I am having the same problem and have the same settings as above.  I have been testing for a few days now but the problem seems to have appeared after September 26 when I last added a movie and only had to apply the IMDB number to have data and images download successfully.  Now now downloads do not happen regardless of which identification number I put in.

HI @AmericanMikefrom the example you sent me, please try refreshing the metadata on it and see if that helps. If it doesn't, then please attach the emby server log.

The log you provided does not appear to have a refresh metadata. Thanks !

Sorry, I meant to refresh then send the log.  Hope this helps.  I only tried to refresh The Lost Bus.

nothing.  No error displayed.  Just unresponsive.  Like I advised, I used to be able to edit the metadata, add the IMDB number, save the data, then refresh including replacing all images and data and that would be it, but the movies I have been adding lately will not update.

Have you verified library metadata settings?

Have you tried toggling them off then back on?  As I don't see any provider queries.

All there is, is a bunch of HLS errors between the start and Complete item refresh.  No provider info.

I have tried logoffs, restarts of the app, reboots of the server, everything.  this all started after this recent upgrade.  I shared screen shots of my Metadata settings with Luke at the beginning of this thread.

what is an HLS error?

Actually, where are the screenshots of your metadata settings? I can't find them anymore.

attached.  The Library Settings are fresh as right now because I was turning things off and on and wanted to provide most current data.

@AmericanMikeit appears you've added F:\My Video to two different libraries that use two different content types:

Library: Movies, id: 1594, CollectionType: , CollapseSingleItemFolders: False
	Configured paths:
Library Folder: My Video, id: 2839: path: F:\My Video
Library: Movies, id: 2841, CollectionType: movies, CollapseSingleItemFolders: False
	Configured paths: F:\My Video
Library Folder: My Video, id: 2839: path: F:\My Video

This is really only supported when they all use the same content type, and even then, which library options get used? Which library options have you been showing us? So even then, it's really best to make sure the library options are exactly the same.

So what I would suggest is picking one of those libraries to keep and then removing the other. Then run a full scan of all libraries. And then after that, then let's re-evaluate the metadata refreshes because then I think we'll see your library options getting utilized.

I have had it that way for several months and it was working great.  I did remove the path from the one library and now hve F:\My Video attached to only one library.  I restarted Emby, manually refreshed the Metadata with no change.  Attaching the latest log.

HI,I don't think it finished removing. Is the folder still in emby library setup?

damn you are a genius.  I restarted Emby again, verified the folder was gone.  Then I manually refreshed the metadata and it was successful.

Thanks for following up !

And thank you for your patience with this issue. I understand it may have been frustrating.

I do just want to point out that using the same folder in multiple libraries with different library options has always been something that could be problematic, even in 4.8. What you describe as working in 4.8 was more that you were just getting lucky that it was picking the library options that you were expecting.

Ultimately, at some point, this has to get split into two steps where you import folders into your server as the first step, and then create libraries for display based on that.

Luke, et al,

I understand the troubleshooting process and everytime I've had a glitch you folks have been there.  I go way back to the MediaBrowser days.

I guess I was lucky that it was working.  Thanks again.

If every you need a test for something I'm using Live TV OTA, IPTV, many libraries, and running on Windows and in a Rock-On container.  I will find time to pay it forward.

Have a great weekend wherever you guys are.
