Hi,

i get an error on every trailer i want to play on this Page, see the attached picture. I get a youtube Error 153 message.

It turned out that it only appears on the Samsung TV, so I wanted to make a proper error report and provide all the model information.

 

I found an explanation on the net:

It seems to me that it is only a small change in the code of the Samsung app to adapt the embedding of the video to the changed YouTube requirements.

Maybe somebody could adjust it in the Samsung Emby app in future releases. ;)

 

Samsung model number: QN85A 2021

Samsung firmware version: 2220.9

Samsung Emby client version: 2.2.5

Emby server version: 4.9.1.80

Have you tried doing this? It's a hack for the LG app, but hoprefully same process would clear cookies on your TV as well.

Yes, i complete uninstall embyapp and clean the cache. I also do a complete factory reset of the TV. The Problem all ready exists.

Yes, this should work on Samsung as well.

Uninstall the app again (make sure you are uninstalling, not just removing from the homescreen). Then remove the power from the tv for a few minutes (don't just turn the TV off), then power on and try reinstalling again

@SamES is this something you can add to the app?  Reason erzonk just initialized their whole TV setup just a few days ago working another issue here and that seems kind of extreme that one would have to do this so quickly.

I don't think it's relevant with the way we integrate the YouTube player. I had the same issue here a few weeks ago and an uninstall/reinstall resolved it for me and it's still working fine today. It shouldn't need a full reset, but I'm curious to see if an app reinstall makes a difference.

Ok, that fixed it. Uninstall, pull out the TV Powerplug für 15min. Put in again Install Emby 2.2.5. per USB. Now Trailers Work. 👍

I thought, a fully factory reset was the maximum you can do to set everything back. After that i write ill try the exactly thing with complete powerless also. sorry for wrong Infos.

I agree, but I'm curious which 'Factory reset' did you do? Which option did you select?

There ist an Option in the TV menu that means "reset".

After that all settings of the TV was Like i installed the First time. All Apps, channels settings and adjustments and so on. The TV startet with the First time Setup. So i thought everything was reset and erased.

I'm surprised a full reset didn't resolve it, but it's possible that resetting to factory defaults doesn't properly uninstall apps and clear all of its settings.

Glad the uninstall/reinstall fixed it.

That surprises me too.

What I noticed was that after unplugging the power plug for 15minutes, I had to agree to the cookie guidelines again on various television channels. That wasn't the case after the full reset.

The next time I do a full reset, I also pull the power plug for a few minutes. It might be a good idea for all devices that can be reset.

Have you tried to remove the powerplug for 10 minutes and plug it in again?

You're running fairly old version of the app.  There was a fix for YT trailers in 2.2.7   Check the store for an update, but I suspect you may have to sideload it by using the instructions in the pinned posts because of the age of your TV.

I confirm that updating to the latest version solved the issue.
And yes, I had to sideload it 😉

Version 2.2.7 probably hasn't completed testing by Samsung yet.  I would just stick with the beta version for now if trailers are something you need.
