Will newly added Episodes/Seasons receive metadata if locked?

Hello, if I lock all the metadata for my whole Library, will newly episodes/season still get metadata on the first import? If yes, will they be locked too afterwards?

Hi, no you will not. I generally advise against using the full lock as you will probably end up losing some things that you want.

Ok, but what would be the best approach then? Is setting the automatically refresh option to never enough to not lose anything? Or should I lock seasons instead of the whole series? Would my manually set items and the cover art be save?

Apparently there is a way with notepad++ if you save your nfo files with your media files.

Usually yes unless you manually refresh something or you have some plugin installed that might do that in the background.

That would lock the items, but not library, there are no provisions to do that.

Yeah, they removed that option some time ago. But locking every item in bulk is what I wanted to achieve.
