Trying to understand why some shows have text on the bottom while some do not. This is on the Samsung beta app. It's been consistent over several versions.

Hi, when the series doesn't have a thumb image, the backdrop image gets used. Since backdrop images don't contain the logo with the show name, that's why the app adds the text there.

I find that pretty confusing and don't want to necro this thread, but why not just "always" show the title of the media. That sounds like a deliberate decision. Not all users can know what they're looking at by the show/movie's thumb right? Three Gordon Ramsay shows will just have three heads popping up with no clue which one is which?

You'll have titles under thumbs/posters on Home Screen if you don't use EHS.

If you do have EHS enabled, focus and/or thumbnail image and/or show name overlayed on backdrop will show it.

I'm not familiar with the term EHS. What is that exactly?

Enhanced Home Screen (large image/details on uppper half of Home Screen); There's a toogle to enable/disable it right under Home Screen sections in your user Home Screen preferences.
