I log in but go to select server and one is auto wiped.

What exactly do you mean by auto-wiped? Also, are the servers clones of each other by any chance?
Guest Posted September 26, 2025 Posted September 26, 2025 (edited) After I add the 3rd server. I'm logged in and it seems like everything is fine. I then go to "select server" to go back to one of the 3x servers. There is now only 2 displayed to choose from. 2x have domains and 1x is an IP if that makes any difference. None are clones. The host I just connected to is there to choose from but one of the previous servers I logged into is now just gone and I need to add the server info and login info again. I had done it 3 or 4 times now and it repeats the behavior. Also one of my favorite parts of emby playback is pushing up on the remote and having instant chapter options. Why chapters so hidden in the android app? It's horrid on the android app. I don't want to push down and then select chapters. What was wrong with instant chapter selection not hidden? Hi, there is an option in the settings of the app to control the up button behavior during playback and you can make it this way.

I'll have 2x servers in there. A B. I add C and A is gone. Add A again and B is gone. add B again and C is gone. So its not just ShieldTV seeing this.

So its not just ShieldTV seeing this. How did you setup these three Emby Servers? Are you sure they are all from scratch? Did you restore a backup from one onto the other?
Guest Posted September 26, 2025 Posted September 26, 2025 I see what you are getting at now. They may not be clones right now but at one point was one backed up and restored. I normally had 1x server on the androidTV app and the 2x others on the android app. So that might be why I haven't seen this behavior before. Now that I'm trying to merge everything onto the 1x app. If a backup and restore happened at one point I def would have "moved the server token" over with it though. Say host C was restored onto host B. Is there a way to flush some data on host C to clear all that out? or do I need to full reinstall?
Solution Luke 42077 Posted September 26, 2025 Solution Posted September 26, 2025 You probably have two servers reporting the same server id. this will cause Emby apps to think they are the same server. You probably don't need to reinstall and once you get through some short term pain I think you'll be fine. To verify that I'm right, you can put this url in a browser: http://ip:8096/system/info/public Do this for both installations and verify they have the same server id. If this is true then here is how to recover. Pick one of the two to reset the server id on. If one is a test server or has fewer users, then I would choose that one. Shut it down and locate the server's data folder: Emby Server Data Folder Then from there go into the /data subfolder and delete both the connect.txt and device.txt files. Then start it up. On the server, if you use Emby Connect, then all Emby Connect to local user associations will have to be remapped. That should be all you have to do on the server but just be aware that this process is not heavily tested so there are bound to be other quirks that might come up. Then from Emby apps, all Emby apps/devices that connect to this server will have to connect again as if it's the first time.

Now that I'm trying to connect to them both in 1x app vs how it was before 1 connecting to androidTV and the other connecting to android app. I'm going to proceed with your advice to clear the data and let you know if my tests work after that. Then start it up. I don't use connect on this host so there was only a device.txt file to delete. Confirmed there was a new ID after starting the service back up. There was! Signed on via android app and sure enough I now see 3x servers as expected! Thank you very much for your time.
