guunter 49 Posted September 22, 2025 Posted September 22, 2025 Hi Emby Team, Been searching around but haven't really gotten clarification. I would just like to know if Web browsers are still considered free from being counted towards the premiere limit even when you use all the features like skip intro etc?
Gilgamesh_48 1240 Posted September 22, 2025 Posted September 22, 2025 As far as I know what features you use in a web browser does not change what is counted toward the premier count of devices. That is web browsers do not impact your license at all except for the server that must have the key set up on it. But I do not use my we browser for anything other than server maintenance so it could be that there are some limitations but I know I would very much dislike using a web browser for consuming content.

It's mainly for when I'm on the go like at work or in my Tesla. But I see some of my family using web browsers every now and then

No just wanted to get a little better understanding if web browsers count towards it since I was following old threads and it used to be noted in Devices what counted. So since you said Playback counts that means web browsers count against your device limit now?

Sorry, no. What I meant was the devices are only counted at playback time. Web browsers are still exempted from this count.
