Can a folder be put into multiple Libraries?

Say there's 3 Libraries.......Movies, TV, MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe).
Movies is all Movies, TV all TV Shows.
MCU is set as a MIxed Library. Within MCU there are 2 main folders, Movies and TV.

Can I add the MCU/TV to the TV Library also?

Thx.

HI, adding a folder to mulitple libraries is only supported if all libraries involved use the same content type, which would not be the case here.

And even when that's true, ideally you want the libraries configured identically because you will not be able to predict which library options get used.

@kbeckLet me see if I understood this correctly:

You have:

Movies ..... Library Type = Movies
TV.............. Library Type = TV Shows
MCU ......... Library Type = Mixed (Movies + TV Shows)

Now, let's define folders for these libraries (example):

Movies folder = c:\movies
Tv folder = c:\TV
MCU folder = c:\moviesMCU and c:\TvMCU

So you have a total of 4 folders:

c:\movies
c:\TV
C:\moviesMCU
c:\TvMCU

If that's correct, and you want to add the MCU Movies and MCU Tv to your regular Movies and TV Folders you may setup:

Movies folder = c:\movies and c:\moviesMCU -----> Movies Type library
Tv folder = c:\TV and c:\TvMCU ---------------------> TV Shows Type library
MCU folder = c:\moviesMCU and c:\TvMCU --------> Mixed Content Type library

With this:

All your movies, including MCU ones will be under Movies
All your TVShows including MCU ones will be under TV
All your MCU Stuff (Movies and TVShows) will be under MCU

Is that what you're trying to achieve ?

Hope this helps.

Ok said nothing.

Even you can do what I've suggested before and the library will be created and scanned:

The library will not be shown anywhere, not in your home page My Media or My Media (small).

I don't understand why of this limitation ....

So you are correct thru most. The MCU is
C:\MCU\Movies\Movie 1\
C:\MCU\Movies\Movie 2\
C:\MCU\Movies\Movie 3\
and
C:\MCU\TV\Show 1\Season 1\s01e01 etc
C:\MCU\TV\Show 2\Season 1\s01e01 etc

I used to have it as you suggested. I added tags to all Movies and Shows so I could find them. Added all to a Collection. Every time I have to move files around half the tags would disappear so I spend all my time redoing tags, adding back to Collections. I created the separate Library so I could just drop them there and forget about it.

I use Media Monkey to organize my music and it uses Libraries as just a holder. I can Create a Library of Albums and create another Library and include the same albums and others no problem. I think I keep trying to apply its structure here and a Library have functions it does.
Before Luke said not to, I went ahead and added them to the existing TV Library and so far everything is looking ok. I may remove them at some point or if they cause a problem.
