Hi,

I'm trying to get in my Emby the Star Wars Clone Wars Classic (https://thetvdb.com/series/star-wars-clone-wars).

This series was originally aired by Cartoon Network in 3 seasons, where season 1 where 10 episodes of 3 minutes, season 2 where 10 episodes of 3 minutes and season 3 where 5 episodes of 12-15 minutes.

The only published media is the DVD one, where in DVD 1 are the 20 episodes mounted as 1 single video, and DVD 2 are 5 episodes in 1 single video, converting 3 seasons in 2.

So first I've done is once the show has identified (manually identification), changed order to DVD instead of default order into show metadata:

image.png.c6964d382dd8224f6ce91f13bb333558.png

This match what I have as the Aired order was splitted into 3 seasons:

Aired Order

DVD Order

image.thumb.png.8cb64180bfb1969c8ffdac5b9df061bc.png

Well my issue comes on naming the 2 videos that compone the DVD Season 1 and Season 2, I've tried:

S01E01E20 / S02E01E05

S01E01E02E03E04E05E06E07E08E09E10E11E12E13E14E15E16E17E18E19E20 / S02E01E02E03E04E05

01x01 - x20 / 02x01 - x05

Plus all the other options detailed in: https://emby.media/support/articles/TV-Naming.html

image.thumb.png.6a04472a25e35d72230419773b3421ed.png

NOTHING is capable to download any metadata for this episodes:

image.thumb.png.686ce3a7a64cabaa9d2de74ef4b59056.png

In addition and I don't know if this can help, the Statistics Plugin, is presenting this for this show:

image.thumb.png.4f7cd3f4cdf629ab2b9a8ae5cc26ff03.png
image.thumb.png.af9c2d0a7ce3560980a619c4ad36bd85.png

This makes me clear that the show is identified but the episodes are not identified.

Any ideas on how to name this to be identified ? Maybe are too much episodes in one and there's a limitation in emby for that.

Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Try with

S01E01-E20 / S02E01-E05, just to test.

Have you refreshed metadata upon switching to DVD order?

Hi Yes, refreshed metadata.

Tried proposed scheme and nothing, exactly the same as before:

When you originally imported/identified the show, did episodes have episode metadata downloaded (in Aired order)?

I don't remember (I'm dealing with this for more than 1year, but opened the support request today) so I changed it now to aired order and with your naming suggestion, no metadata is downloaded even after Metadata refresh:

Without server log, it's practically mpossible to figure out what's happening and what calls have been made.

What I'd suggest is to start afresh: remove that show from your TV shows root, run Scan media library to clear the db, rename those episodes to plain S01E01 and S02E01 (you can rename them later), reimport the show, see where you stand and if all seriea/season/episode metadata downloaded.

Before all that, in your library settings, just untick/tick again all enabled meta-providers for series/season/episode.

OK, will give it a try and will get back with results, full Scan Media Library takes more than 2 hours in my case, so I will do when I can :)

Not sure about your files, but this works fine for me.

Also, multi episodes files, I have settled on a single way which is different than yours.  My example is as follows which has never let me down:

s01x01x02x03x04

s02x01x02x03    etc etc etc  I'm not saying the other ways don't work, I just know this absolutely works.  I had problems defining "ranges" a long time and just moved on.  In you example, under your temporary folders, I don't see any .nfo files generated so that could be an issue.

Not sure of your issue as I just added this without issue.

Only issue is needing manual Identification as there is no such show (Star Wars Classic).

Identified with TVDBid-72244

image.png.1731f4745b08282ee635d15e21358f8d.png

Aired order see the naming limited to 10 per that order

image.thumb.png.979a1676ac04293f30182c319ce22f96.png

Changed to DVD order and Refreshed metadata.   You can see titles changes to include all 1-20

Tried your naming and it's not working in my case, I'm not using .nfo files in my libraries

Manually identified with the same TVDB as you (72244), still getting no metadata for chapters with naming:

S01x01x02x03x04x05x06x07x08x09x10x11x12x13x14x15x16x17x18x19x20.mkv

S02x01x02x03x04x05.mkv

PS: The name classic comes from when the second Star Wars Clone Wars show was released, TheTVDB renamed this one to Star Wars Classic, no idea why but I kept the naming ;)

Thanks but not my case, you have the "original aired episodes", I only have what was released in DVD that was merging the episodes into single video for first 20 and another for the other 5.

This is the only release in Spanish available :(

I did all this as you suggested:

Remove folder from library, run full Scan Media, put the folder back again with S01E01 and S02E01 (were properly identified), then renamed files to S01E01-E20 and S02E01-E05, refreshed metadata. Change Order to DVD Order, Refreshed again Metadata and now all metadata is downloaded properly:

image.thumb.png.588e2be7e8f913918b5c87d1acd80ce1.png

image.thumb.png.caad3f71dd2197df5c012ad5fb3fd47e.png

So I assume something was blocked on the DB for this show preventing to refresh properly the metadata.

Thanks a lot ! (To everybody who tried to help ;))
