Duplicate Option to detect modified files not only by 'modified timestamp' but also by filesize or even by hash

Following problem: 

The backend i use, a s3-backend, doesn't provide 'modified timestamps'. 
When i modify files i actually have to delete them, make a library scan, then add the new file in, and make another library scan. 
It would be nice to have the option in the backend to turn a filesize-check (bytes) or for more complicated situations even a "hash-check" for certain libraries on. 
It certainly would make scanning times longer but would provide a better and more streamlined way to automate things.
