sargenthp 35 Posted September 11, 2025 Posted September 11, 2025 Hello, I just upgraded my Linux Emby Server from 4.8.10.0 to 4.8.11.0. Now when I enter Emby Android TV on my devices I get the following message "VolleyError com.android.volley.NoConnectionError:" I do not show any users but I get the "Other options". So I need to go to Login with Connect, Skip and enter IP Address, and then enter my IP address. Then I am able to login to my server. Emby Android TV version: 2.1.23g. I sent the log from the app at around 1:42pm Central time. Thank you!
Luke 42077 Posted September 11, 2025 Posted September 11, 2025 Hi there, please attach the Emby server log from when the problem occurred: How to Report a Problem Thanks!
sargenthp 35 Posted September 11, 2025 Author Posted September 11, 2025 Attached. Thank you, Luke. embyserver - 20250911.txt
Luke 42077 Posted September 12, 2025 Posted September 12, 2025 Have you disabled remote access either in server network settings or for the user? I would check that as well as device access settings for the user.
Solution sargenthp 35 Posted September 12, 2025 Author Solution Posted September 12, 2025 I didn't change anything, other than upgrade. The Android App (not Android TV App) had no problems. I did just tweak my settings within the Network to specify my LAN network, and Local IP Address. That seemed to fix the issue that I was seeing with the Android TV App.

sargenthp 35 Posted September 12, 2025 Author Posted September 12, 2025 Sorry... I realize this sounded like I changed the settings with the upgrade. As of this morning I updated those changes, and with the changes the application is working. So I am assuming the "automatically detect the local IP address" feature is not working.

What makes you think that?
sargenthp 35 Posted September 12, 2025 Author Posted September 12, 2025 As soon as I remove my Server's IP from the Local IP Address setting the app does not work.

In certain network situations such as with vpn's, multiple subnets or other complex configurations, it might be necessary to explicitly set the server's local network address. That's why the option is there. If it were possible to automatically determine your local ip address in all situations, then the option would not be needed. The only downside to using the option is that you will have to remember to update it if the local ip address changes. For this reason, I would recommend setting a static IP in your router. Please let us know if this helps. Thanks.
sargenthp 35 Posted September 18, 2025 Author Posted September 18, 2025 Well. It is basic, and been working for years. But I guess I will let it ride.
Luke 42077 Posted September 18, 2025 Posted September 18, 2025 Please set it back to default of blank, then restart the server. Allow the server to start up, and then please attach the emby server log: How to Report a Problem Thanks.
BigMommaP 1 Posted September 18, 2025 Posted September 18, 2025 (edited) I could have sworn that I rebooted before. Appears everything is working as expected after this mornings reboot. Sorry. Thank you for your time. Edit: Oops.... Logged in as my wife's account. Edited September 18, 2025 by BigMommaP Added edit note. 1
