rcsnoopdog 11 Posted September 9, 2025 Posted September 9, 2025 Hello my name is Richard My father watches emby through a firestick 4k max 1st gen & some files stop and start which i found is any file over about 5 mbps , when files are playing they are playing direct , but he also has a Samsung tv in kitchen with the emby app installed and it plays these files no problem but i noticed it is transcoding them to 7 mbps , why or how do i get the firestick to do the same , its remote by the way at my fathers , emby server and all files hosted at my house Thanks
Luke 42077 Posted September 9, 2025 Posted September 9, 2025 Hi there, have you configured the quality setting in the app?
rcsnoopdog 11 Posted September 9, 2025 Author Posted September 9, 2025 I am not at my fathers now, but I had looked through the settings & thought everything was okay , in fact i ticked 2 boxes for something to do with less stutter during playback it said , it did not improve problem , but if you tell me which settings correspond to this problem I could call down and have my father check them .

Luke 42077 Posted September 9, 2025 Posted September 9, 2025 In playback settings in the app it would be the remote quality setting. Also would like to know the version number of the app. Thanks.

Solution Luke 42077 Posted September 9, 2025 Solution Posted September 9, 2025 That depends, but if you're having trouble over 5 mbps, then you might try setting it to 4 mbps.

Luke 42077 Posted January 19 Posted January 19 For video stuttering, please try Emby for Android 3.5.25 and let us know how that compares: https://emby.media/emby-for-android.html Thanks.
