I'm requesting an ability to sort my library by another metric -- "modified".

At present, I typically sort my movies by "date added", however this has a shortcoming when upgrading movies.  Say, for example, I start out with a DVD, and then buy a bluray and add it to my collection.  This major upgrade of quality is a good reason to watch the movie, even if it is an older item that has been in my library for years.  My request is that if a movie is modified (for example a new version of the movie becomes available), I would like to be able to have that at the top.

When I upgrade a movie, I manually change the Date Added and mark it as unwatched.

Thanks for the suggestion -- I'll use it as a workaround.

But it'd still be nice to have native functionality.

Hi.  This should already work if you set your date added on the library to the file date instead of the import date.

Thanks for the speedy response!

Could you give a little more detail on how to set this?  I checked the settings on the homepage, and also in Emby's settings page -- I can't see any option to change to file date.

Thanks!

Ahhh. Thank you!  I was looking inside individual libraries rather than at the top level.

This sort function is not working for me.

If I have a movie already created, and it gets upgraded (eg DVD to BluRay), it does not re-appear at the date the new file was added to the library.

Hi, do you have nfo files next to your videos? if so, then the date added value is coming from the contents of that file.

No NFO's.  Just the video files.
