LaCocoRoco 2 Posted August 19, 2025 Posted August 19, 2025 I could not find a solution for my "Sign in with Emby Connect" issues. It is an general Emby Application problem. The Emby Server is behind an reverse proxy. When i use "Sign in with Emby Connect" in an local Network the Server gets added like this: "http://192.168.1.200:8096". When i try to add the Emby Server Remote i can use "Add Server" and use "Host: emby.mydomain.com" and "Port: 443". My Router forwards 443 to an Container with Caddy Reverse Proxy and from there i redirect to the Emby Container. Simple. Now, when i try to use "Sign in with Emby Connect" outside the Network nothing happens. I already changed the Network settings from Emby for HTTPS Port to "443" and Domain to "emby.mydomain.com". Do i have to register "https://emby.mydomain.com:443" somewhere else? Probably i also missing something. Is it only possible to use this functionality if i directly use the Network configuraiton from Emby? As example: I have to add an SSL-Zertication and also directly redirect from my router to the Emby Container?

LaCocoRoco 2 Posted August 20, 2025 Author Posted August 20, 2025 (edited) Yes. At least in the mobile app. I enter my credentials and it goes back to the default overwiew where i again can select "Sign in with Emby Connect", "Add Server", etc. In comparison with the local network the Emby Server will be added (At least with the local IP and Port). Could you recommend some way to debug it? Log Files? Edited August 20, 2025 by LaCocoRoco

LaCocoRoco 2 Posted August 20, 2025 Author Posted August 20, 2025 I already did that several times. But i missed the fact that you have to confirm your E-Mail (Junk Mail in my case). After that the server gets added into the users Dashboard. Thanks for the help and sorry for the trouble! 1

FYI you actually don't. It is no longer necessary to click the link in the email, so something else must have been at play.
LaCocoRoco 2 Posted August 20, 2025 Author Posted August 20, 2025 Ok. In this case probably some things overlaped and i got confused. When i tried to connect locally, the media server got added with my local emby server IP. Remote it did not work. When i tried Add Server with my domain/port it worked but at the end of my domain the Port 443 was visible. At this point i recognized the Emby Connect from my User on the Server was removed (Probably because i once removed the server in the application). When i completly removed the Server from the emby application, again connected the user on the server and then again logged in on the app, the server was available. But this time without the port, which means emby connect on the server did its job. 1
