Movie metadata

I have recently been using this free app on the Windows store to repackage my media files with metadata and box art.

Can anyone recommend me something similar for MacOS with a GUI interface and similar features?

Thank you.

I honestly don’t know of any macOS GUI apps that would reliably embed the metadata for you (either automatically or manually)… I know like MediaMonkey could do that but it’s Audio only, not Movies/Shows (and I think you have to pay for MM premium for it as well)

I just got home today from being in the hospital for 6 days but if I’m feeling up to it and remember I can take a look tonight or tomorrow to see if I come up with something.

I know tinyMediaManager (free or Pro) can help you gather the Images that Emby uses and you can use it to write NFO files (how I do it) but I don’t think that can embed the info into the file directly and relies on the NFO, JPG, PNG files…

I have NOT tried any of these (yet)

  • MetaDoctor Pro: This application is highly suitable for users deeply integrated into the Apple ecosystem, including the TV App and Apple TV. It stands out as a reliable, dedicated video metadata editor offering batch processing and automated lookup from TMDb. Its design ensures a polished experience for personal media libraries within Apple's native applications.
  • iFlicks: An excellent choice for users prioritizing comprehensive automation, tight integration with iTunes/TV App and Emby/Plex, and a polished GUI for both metadata embedding and optional video conversion. Its watch folder capabilities and rule system make it exceptionally efficient for managing ongoing recordings.
  • FileBot: This tool is highly effective for users whose primary need includes automated file renaming and organization alongside metadata writing, especially for large libraries managed by media servers such as Plex or Kodi. It offers powerful scripting for advanced automation of library management tasks.

There's a chance 'MetaDocker' 'could' work in the free version and not require Pro, but I'm still doing my research...

Thank you.  This is great.  I forgot about filebot.   I'll check out metadocker.

The "MetaDocker" was a typo, I was referencing the MetaDoctor ... and didn't notice :D
