Remote IP on two different emby servers

Hi all, posting despite a small fear of sounding like I have no idea what I'm talking about (I don't) but I couldn't find the answer anywhere else.

I set up a test Emby server on my Windows PC while I didn't have my NAS at home, and later installed Emby on my NAS. Now I have the problem that the remote address is the exact same, which opens up the old server. I don't exactly wish to migrate (and don't have Premiere yet as I'm still figuring out Emby at the moment) so the backup & restore option doesn't seem to be what I'm looking for (I have set up the new server with different folders and media). I basically want the old server gone. Shutting it down also shuts down the one I'm hosting on my NAS, as well as disabling remote access, so it appears to be the same server with a different name + content?

Could anyone more capable help me out? Thank you!

Hi, can’t you just uninstall whichever the old one is?

I hope I understand you right. Do you have a port forwarding rule in your Router? If so, change the destination address to the NAS one. Then your fresh NAS server will be available from remote clients outside of your network and you can shut down the test Server on your PC.

Regarding opening your home network to the public in general:

This was it! I was looking at port forwarding last night but I was a little scared to go into it but this fixed my issue. Thank you!

Hey!
I had a similar issue before — sounds like your NAS and PC might still be sharing the same Emby config or port. Try uninstalling Emby from the PC completely and check port settings on the NAS to avoid conflicts.
