So turn off UPnP on the router and manual forward the port.  The port 8099 is for internal connection and the 8096 is for external according to the network section of the settings in emby.  And i set up all the other ports because i seen them in the help article about connections.

Update:  Turned off Upnp and only have the 2 ports 8069 and 8099 forwarded and restarted the server and still have no access.

Yes, turn off UPnP and manually forward focusing on the port(s) you need. Did you choose 8099 for a specific reason? You can change it but can stick with it for now.

In the Emby Network settings make sure:

- "Allow remote connections" is enabled.

- "Local http port number" is 8099

- "Remote http port number" is 8096

Then on your router setup one, and only one port forwarding rule for WAN port 8096 (public) to LAN port 8099 on .243 (local). Should probably have an IP reservation for the Emby server if you haven't done so already or if not static IP.

Should you decide to make the ports consistent using the default then change ALL 8099 values above to 8096 and restart the Emby server.

I will try this in the morning and report back. All of the ports were there when I installed Emby. External connections are allowed. And I have already bind the ip for the computer running the server.

I changed the ports to 8096 and set the port forwarding in the router and it works now. I wonder why i had to change the ports like that with this router and didn't have too with the other router? Any who, thank you all for the help, no we will see if i still have the half show recordings happen.  Will give it a few days and report back.

You're welcome. It'll be less confusing going forward using same port values.

It only recorded 24 minutes of the show. And the show is 1 hour show so it should have been 1 hour and 4 minutes due to the buffer I have set.

What makes you think it was only 24 minutes?

because when i go into the tv shows and go into that show it only shows 24 minutes under the episode and when i open the episode to watch it it is only 24 minutes long.  I have deleted it and downloaded it from the interwebs so i could watch the full show.

Can you try refreshing the metadata on it and see if that updates the runtime?

It wasn’t just the meta data. When I tried to watch it it was only 24minutes. The show with no commercials is 43 minutes and with commercials and the buffer should have been 1h4minutes

OK we are looking into it. Thanks.
