I've got a new user that seems to be caught in a loop with Emby Connect. So she's trying to sign in using Emby Connect from her iPad and enters her email and password - she's the greeted with a page that offers the choices; Add Server, Sign in with Emby Connect, and Downloads.  So Add Server asks her for the Host Server address, which of course she doesn't know (kinda the whole point of Emby Connect, right?), Sign in with Emby Connect just starts the cycle all over again.  Downloads just activates briefly with a brief arc of the "thinking" circle and ends. Her user status on the server dashboard shows the little cloud that suggests Emby connect is enabled.

Not sure what to do next...

She's using the Emby app from the Apple app store.  I have Premiere enabled now... Hmm... same loop with http://app.emby.media

Hi, did you setup her Emby Connect account on your server?

Emby Connect

Yes. I think I did it correctly. Username and email address in the "(Optional) Emby Connect Email Address Field"...

She gets these two screens - clicking on "Sign in with Emby Connect" takes her to the second screen, which when filled out, takes her back to the first screen. It just loops back and forth.

Try doing these steps again so that you get the popup shown below

  1. Remove the email address, hit Save.
  2. Re-enter the email address, hit Save.
You should see a popup indicating the account has been successfully linked.

Once done, see if that makes a difference to what is shown to her after signing in with Emby Connect

Perfect! That was the solution for two new users. Both were sorta stuck in that loop and it resolved that issue for both users. Thank-you so much. Brilliant.

I also watched the process for installing the Emby app on an Android TV that was attached to an RV using Starlink for Internet access.  QR code instead of passwords was very helpful - no passwords to muck up. It worked flawlessly!  I'm so impressed.  Well done. Mostly I don't expect this kinda stuff to work.  Very cool folks, very cool indeed. Thanks so much.
