As the title say, but web app works as expected.

On Android app if I go to app settings and try to change from default to any other like smart etc. it comes app with an error emby/user/numbers and characters can not be found.

Again web app change to whatever settings I click.

Server running today's update , and had same behavior with previous.

Also download subtitles not working I Android app, works fine in webapp

By the way I checked this started happening with 2 last Android updates.Any help?

Thanks in advance

Hi there, let's look at an example. Please attach the information requested in how to report a media playback issue. Thanks!

Right but the ffmpeg log is from Chrome. What example are we focusing on here?

Hmm, ok will delete every log and generate a new set from app.

Ok can't delete all as I am on remote connection .

Time in log is 5:41emby_android_1751146357939.txt

Also I have some more info, I am having a wireguard VPN server working in home and I access emby server through that.

To be fair I can access all my network infrastructure.

But I noticed just today, emby for Android display subtitles and don't come with the error when accessed through local network.

The directory of users is there , and have user access /mnt/.ix-apps/app_mounts/emby/config/config/users/9b2623419fa147a4b8abe390fd67952c and this is the directory that can't be found error.

Strangely from cli remote or not i access it.

I attached the 2 files that are inside my user direcory , in case you want to check them

Emby web works flawlessly in local or VPN server.

Any ideas?

I am running many services in home that I access through VPN server, never had any problem.

Found what was the problem, up to latest versions of android i had given r/w/e only to my user home directory and was working fine for years, today i added the group to home directory permissions , dunno why its working now.

that in case it helps someone, but wonder if its an ovelooked config  in android app, as its not common to give group full permition to users HOME directory. USER HOME IS PRIVATE!

Please take a look on next version, if you need any more data , ask me.

That is weird, removed the group access from user home, and everything is playing, hope it stil goes after a restart!

oh never mind i was on local access and not through vpn.

So no Solution. I will ditch app and keep using web app, until a build fix it.

Thanks

Ok, finally resolved, deleted docker installation of emby, and reinstalled from scratch.

Now it's working VPN server and local.
