If i were to buy a device to plugin to any tv that does not have Emby, like a firestick or the other similar devices that Emby works with,

which would work better with Emby because on the firestick it seems very basic and just not as good as app on my better Samsung tv .

I would assume you've referring to AndroidTV app (which is far from basic, but not a topic for this discussion), download and install standard Android app (search for "Emb"), it'll give you UX much closer/practically same as what you're seeing on your Samsung TV.

In the store.

what does UX mean

UX=User experience

User experience (UX) is how a user interacts with and experiences a product, system or service'

UI=User interface

UI stands for User interface. It is the point of contact between humans and computers.

So it will be called Emby UX OR UI ?

And do i uninstall the Emby i have before installing new one ?

Neither. UX and UI are general terms, unrelated to Emby specifically.

Instead of typing "...it'll give you user experience much closer/practically same as what you're seeing on your Samsung TV.", one can type: "...it'll give you UX much closer/practically same as what you're seeing on your Samsung TV."

There's no need (though nothing prevents you to do so), both apps will happily co-exist on the same system.

One will be called "Emby for FireTV" (the one you have installed now), the other just "Emby".

I would disagree and say that the Emby for FireTV app is the better choice for some someone who just wants wants things to work. The Emby app have is still missing features and is less reliable. If you aren't able to help your father troubleshoot the tried and true legacy Emby for FireTV app is the better choice.

Why , what are the differences and what do you mean lees reliable, how ? and which features ?  also is there something better suited to emby similar to the firestick ?

It's a lot thread but it documents the feature missing in the new version.

Some users, myself included, have experienced issues that cause the new Emby app to "get stuck" which required it to be forced closed. Lots of people don't have this issue but you should be aware of it if you plan to deploy it to a remote user who might not be able to fix it.

In my opinion, the new Emby app is still a beta and the Emby for FireTV would be considered stable. The new app looks nicer and had more potential through continued updates but comes with some downsides.

I personally use the new app but I have all of my remote users on the old app still.
