i am attempting to use the live tv (IPTV) feature functionality of emby. I have added  both .m3u files and URLs into the Live Tv submenu. no matter how include them they do not show up within the live tv section of the player. adding the files/URLs does add the "live TV" section to the player, but there are no channels within it. I have installed the IPTV plugin as a workaround, and the same URLs work,  but its interface is not as clean, nor does it appear to offer guide support nor support for files. i think these are the most relevent bits of code but i have attached the whole log file as well

Obvious question, but do you have an active Emby Premiere subscription? Live TV / DVR is a Premiere feature only.

Hi, have you checked the contents of your m3u? Does it have any channels?

i do not know how to check if there is more than one channel contained in the stream. i do know that if i take the m3u url or file and place/paste it into a program such as the iptv plugin for emby or use the streaming option for vlc, i receive a video signal of some kind. these are free m3us and there is no mention of multiple channels, so i assume that the ones i have tried they only have 1 channel.

I think what Luke is saying is if you download and edit the M3U file with an editor such as notepad (on windows) can you see correctly formatted channel URLs?

Also it’s not clear if you have multiple M3Us each for a channel, or if your one M3U is meant to contain multiple channels?

One thing I would try is running the ‘Refresh Guide’ scheduled task after adding the M3U playlist. I find this is what makes them available on the server.

i have no idea what its supposed to look like. i see text dictating format, codec,  and bandwith followed by a url that ends in .m3u8

OK, that is a single stream, not a channel listing m3u. The m3u that you import needs to be a channel listing. For example, it would look like this:

#EXTM3U
#EXTINF:-1 channel-id="123" tvg-id="123" tvg-name="Example Channel" tvg-logo="https://example.com/logo.png", Example Channel
http://example.com:8080/live/stream1.m3u8
#EXTINF:-1 channel-id="456" tvg-id="456" tvg-name="Another Channel" tvg-logo="https://example.com/another_logo.png", Another Channel
http://example.com:8080/live/stream2.m3u8

If you just want to import a single video url, the iptv plugin can do that for you.
