I got emby on a samsung TV, everything was fine until the app asked for an upgrade to version 2.1.0

from there, after the upgrade I can not listen to music, films are OK, other share are OK, but Music propose titles as usual but clicking play on a selection, genre, artist, playlist,  lead to an infinite wait with a wait circle rounding around forever.

the emby server is on a Synology and is up to date.

dunno what to do now, I'm stuck, no more music.

Hi, can you please supply the information anyway?

  • Please attach the server log from the time frame the activity occurred. See the section below titled Emby Server Logs. Please supply the full and complete log file in txt format. Please don't zip or compress, and avoid attempting to extract relevant sections. Everything is relevant to us. If a server transcoding log (ffmpeg log) was also generated during playback (in the server logs folder), please attach that as well.

Hi, for some reason I can't access that. Can you please attach it again? Thanks.

What type of file are you trying to play?

playlist, quite exclusively mp3.

sometimes I click on Genre, to play a selection based on the mood, or autors to select all album of a special person or musician.

some are short (a dozen of tune) some longer ... like a few hundred tunes.

none plays on the new App in its 2.1.0 version, all finish in infinite waiting swirl.

btw, if I use the web interface everything plays smoothly, weither on a PC, Mac or in my TV set. only the app doesn't play music.

I made a test to play a movie, it was fine, at least the first minutes ...  @SamES

So was music working fine before updating to 2.1.0? Do you know what version you were on before the update?

It seems to be working fine for me here.

I don't know which version was installed before, I just know it was working fine for all king of media. BTW on server side there have been no update at all.  @SamES

There should be a newer server version available - your log shows 4.8.8.0.  Can you please install the latest and retest?  Thanks

If there is still an issue, please upload a new server log with your latest test

I do stick to the version proposed on synology (by Emby LLC btw) and on synology there no update beyond 4.8.8.0

however there is on your site a 4.8.11 package for synology. my synology is based on aarch64  cpu is rtd1619b model ds423, so I'll try  the armv8 package and see,

should the upgrade be transparent ?

@LukeI'm not sure who manages the Synology packages, but any reason why it would still only be at 4.8.8.0?

that may be the thing !

I have manually upgraded the synology package, and now the TV-app seems to play music correctly.

you guys should really upgrade the synology repository otherwise quite a lots of user may encounter troubles as I've done. Or be more specific on the need to keep server and client version in concordance.

thanks to all for helping me in this journey.
