Can't Access Dataset Folders in Emby Server on TrueNAS

Like the title says, I can't access my dataset folders on my Emby app with my Truenas server. I have all permissions set correctly (I am pretty sure) and I have the dataset set as the Host Path in the app configuration. I have given the dataset ACL permission for "apps" User and Groups. I can even navigate all the way to the correct folders in the dataset through Emby's webUI, but I can't select the folders, and typing in the path doesn't work either. I am at a total loss and would really love some help.

I am using the Media_Storage pool as my apps pool.

Hi, does something need to be applied recursively, given that it can see those folders, but can't enter them?

So that seemed to work! I checked this box here to "apply permissions recursively" for the dataset and now I can access all those folders. What does this setting do exactly? I am not understanding what this does.

Some folders could have had their own permissions set at lower levels, so I assume that checkbox will override those.
