macmattias 0 Posted June 5, 2025 Posted June 5, 2025 So I thought it would be fun playing around with custom css, now I am done and want to go back to the origial, but how? I try to delete the custom css, but it doesnt help.
Solution ISeeTWizard 29 Posted June 5, 2025 Solution Posted June 5, 2025 I learned that it's just in the browser cache when it was removed from the settings pages. Simply empty this one or CTRL + Shift + R normaly refreshes the page correctly But like written - this was it for my case - maybe also for you? 1
Luke 42078 Posted June 5, 2025 Posted June 5, 2025 Hi, I just tested this and it changed immediately just fine, both adding and removing custom css. This is on localhost. Any change to custom css causes the web app to refresh immediately after clicking save. 1
macmattias 0 Posted June 7, 2025 Author Posted June 7, 2025 No matter what I do the Custom CSS is still there. I cant seem to remove it.

macmattias 0 Posted June 8, 2025 Author Posted June 8, 2025 Of course! Here they are: One before and one after. embyserver_after.txt embyserver_before.txt
Luke 42078 Posted June 8, 2025 Posted June 8, 2025 Hi, Can you please show screenshot examples of exactly what you're doing? Thanks !
macmattias 0 Posted June 9, 2025 Author Posted June 9, 2025 beforeremoving and back is not the same image. Between removed and back I click Dashboard and back to General.
pwhodges 2012 Posted June 9, 2025 Posted June 9, 2025 Your screen shots are not displaying the SAVE button at the bottom of that page - are you perhaps not seeing and pressing it? Paul 1 1
Happy2Play 9780 Posted June 9, 2025 Posted June 9, 2025 Yep that suggest you are not hitting save as your not seeing the api call to post the new settings for Branding. example 2025-06-09 09:01:41.926 Info ServerConfigurationManager: Saving system configuration 2025-06-09 09:01:41.928 Info Server: http/1.1 Response 204 to ::1. macmattias 0 Posted June 9, 2025 Author Posted June 9, 2025 Thank you all for pointing out something I would have done, if there where a save button. I do not have a save button, no idea if the theme removed it or not.
pwhodges 2012 Posted June 9, 2025 Posted June 9, 2025 CSS is only effective in the Web client. If you use another client to remove the CSS then you shouldn't have this problem. Paul 1
macmattias 0 Posted June 9, 2025 Author Posted June 9, 2025 (edited) I know it only affects the web client, and using the Embby client on the computer made it go away, that one had a SAVE button... Edited June 9, 2025 by macmattias Added info
macmattias 0 Posted June 10, 2025 Author Posted June 10, 2025 (edited) In the web ui there wher no save button, using the Emby app on WIndows I was able to remove and save. Now when the ui is back to "normal" I do have a Save button, so it seems like the theme did remove the save button. Edited June 10, 2025 by macmattias

Without knowing the exact custom css you were using it is hard to say but is possible someone removed the buttons by mistake.
macmattias 0 Posted June 10, 2025 Author Posted June 10, 2025 I was a one that would make Emby look more like Plex. It was not even close apart from the colours.
