Turning on 'fetch metadata every 30 days' after import

I recently changed this library setting:

 

My question is -- what about media that was already added to the library? Would this retroactively apply to those titles to flag them to be scanned in 30 days?

If not, do I need to use something like bulk metadata tool to update a specific record to get it on a cycle?

This option looks DateLastRefreshed column in the db for the item and refreshes it Every 30 days.
