I installed the latest release and restarted Emby. Immediately it says to restart to install the latest Beta version.

My previous settings are still there and when I look at the live example, I can see the overlay icons. But when I look at my movies and shows, nothing is shown. Attaching screen shots and latest log.

Yes, I removed CoverArt several hours ago. Right now none of my files have any cover art other than the default.

I was on the release version and it was fine. I went to test the beta version with the FPS fixes and that one is crashed Emby.

I went backwards through each beta and the last beta that doesn't cause a crash is 5.53.9.0. The next beta after that 5.53.00.0 seems to have the change that causes the crash going forward through the rest.

I have a question regarding how overlays are applied to posters.

From what I understand, EmbyIcons adds the icons directly onto the original poster image. However, many posters are not exactly in a 2:3 ratio, and Emby then stretches or resizes them to fit its poster layout. As a result, the icons themselves can appear slightly distorted.

Would it be possible to change this behavior, or add an optional setting, so that overlays are applied to a normalized 2:3 poster image instead of the original source image?

In other words:

Current workflow:

• Original poster
• EmbyIcons adds overlays
• Emby displays/stretchs to 2:3
• Overlays may become distorted

Desired workflow:

• Original poster
• Poster normalized to 2:3
• EmbyIcons adds overlays
• Displayed with correctly proportioned overlays

The goal would be to ensure that icons always keep the correct aspect ratio and positioning, regardless of the source poster dimensions.

Is this something that could be implemented, or is there a technical limitation in the way Emby provides poster images to plugins?

The plugin takes the posters aspect ratio and uses a % of that to scale the icons and placement.

I can certainly add an option to use 2:3 scaling, pretty easily even, i'm just not sure if it will negatively affect the posters.
I will look into it but can't promise when it will be done, kinda on my summer break now and been trying (and failing) to limit the amount of work i have to do.

And no worries at all, there's absolutely no urgency. It's really just a nice-to-have feature that I thought could improve the consistency of the overlays on libraries where posters don't all follow the same aspect ratio.

Enjoy your summer break and don't feel any pressure to work on it. If it eventually makes its way into the plugin someday, that would be great, but it's certainly not a priority.

I can't remember but I think the community rating is IMDb.

It's taken directly from Emby.

@Asdepique777I made it work with the  2:3 aspect, not done yet as i basically just forced the aspect.

You can get the new version from the catalog, beta v5.54.2.0.

This should give some options to play with.
I suggest testing horizontal mode and report back to me, as i might not have hit that correctly.

Now unless there are bugs then i WILL get my vacation!! No more plugins until summer is over and i run out of beer!

Looks like it works like a charm ! I've tested Posters only as I don't use overlays on thumbs and banners.

This will make it look for the keyword remux in video file names (for example: "Star Wars - The new hope Remux 7.1 TrueHD") and use the icon file name source.remux.png (or .jpg) as the icon.
The icon must be located in your custom icons folder.



You set the icons folder here.
You also need to tell the plugin to actually use the custom icons, you will see the option at the top of this picture.
If they still don't show up then just try and move the icons of some other setting and it will reset the cache and redraw the icons on the posters.

I'm still at home, just taking a break from most computer stuff here in the summer so i can enjoy the nice weather and so on.

I have problems with „zxx“ audio tracks. I created custom image and named it lang.zxx.png but it won’t be shown as overlay. The pictures lang.ger.png and lang.eng.png work as expected.

what can I do?
