mrbenjaminryder 4 Posted May 10, 2025 Posted May 10, 2025 Hello, I tried to setup Unifi Site Magic today between my house and my parents so we could bypass going via Cloud Flare/Opening Ports. With the two sites setup I am able to access the Unifi Server at my house from my parents using its Internal IP address. I can scroll through the TV Guide, Movies, Recorded TV..etc however whenever I try to play Live TV I just get a spinning wheel. The issue only seems to occur on my parents LG TVs. I tried two different LG tvs and I get the same issue. When I try via a browser on a PC and Android phone it works without issue. Any thoughts what might be going wrong with Emby on the LG TVs to stop this working? Thanks, Ben.
pwhodges 2012 Posted May 10, 2025 Posted May 10, 2025 My guess is that transcoding is required but not being triggered (or is being triggered but has been disabled as a setting). If you provide a server log covering the time you tried this, that would enable debugging of what's going on. Paul
Luke 42078 Posted May 10, 2025 Posted May 10, 2025 Hi there, let's look at an example. Please attach the information requested in how to report a media playback issue. Thanks!
mrbenjaminryder 4 Posted May 16, 2025 Author Posted May 16, 2025 (edited) Apologies for the delay. It has happened a few times today, but the most recent was around 14:04-ish I think. As soon as I removed the Magic Site connection again and restarted Emby on the LG TV it worked, which should hopefully be visible in the log. embyserver.txt Edited May 16, 2025 by mrbenjaminryder
Solution mrbenjaminryder 4 Posted May 17, 2025 Author Solution Posted May 17, 2025 I think you can ignore this. I believe I've tracked the problem down to a faulty network cable that was connected to a switch both of the LG TVs were connected to. It seemed to give some network connection but obviously kept dropping out/failing. I think we can call this solved. 1
