Spyr01 2 Posted May 3, 2025 Posted May 3, 2025 i will try my best to give all the info i possably can: i just setup emby which i had plex setup and uninstalled plex before installing emby. i installed emby using synology package manager. i launched emby using the http:192.168..... address and loads just fine. went through the web gui and got to the add folders area. at first the folders didnt show which was a easy fix by me just going to the synology file explorer and give the permissions to emby. my media is in the folders acordingly Spyro_STUFF/Music (i have music organized this way: other, Artists, ripped cd's) then inside of those folders i have artists, then albums then songs accordingly) SpyroNAS/TV series SpyroNAS/Movies i added permissions to each and folders and sub folders show up accordingly in the setup gui. when i finish the gui, my music started populating and finished. but my tv series and movies never populate. nothing shows! i go to the folder list, nothing! i checked log and shows nothing! here is my server log showing what i see (maybe i overlooked something???) to help u guys, it is 6:55pm as of typing this. i am going to take and hit scan library files on tv series and movies and write here after i did and attach the log file. (it showing finished at 6:57pm my media i also titled accordingly as showin in attachments: permissions are also set for all the directories the same. aka subfolders i am at a complete loss as i got music to work but not the other 2.. is it a bug? is something i got setup wrong? am i doing something wrong? embyserver.txt
Luke 42077 Posted May 4, 2025 Posted May 4, 2025 Hi there, how many Emby libraries have you created, and what folder paths are added to each one?
Spyr01 2 Posted May 4, 2025 Author Posted May 4, 2025 (edited) The three. Music, movies and TV series I said in my post. The log may show me trying to remove, add, folders and directories trying to figure out why also may show me uninstalling and reinstalling emby Edited May 4, 2025 by Spyr01
Solution Luke 42077 Posted May 4, 2025 Solution Posted May 4, 2025 What folder paths are added to each one? Did you wait for the initial library scan to finish?
Spyr01 2 Posted May 4, 2025 Author Posted May 4, 2025 Under current tasks, there was nothing listed so I assumed it was done. Update: I took and reinstalled it again and skipped the adding of folders in setup GUI. I added them later and now it seems that it is finding my movies. Idk if it looks in sequence as it hasn't made it to TV shows and music yet but there empty or showing I'll give it few hours and come back for a update.
Spyr01 2 Posted May 4, 2025 Author Posted May 4, 2025 i went to bed and let it load all night and when i got up this morning, all my media was loaded in. so, i guess it just needed alot more time? well thanks for your help guys! 1
