Luke 42078 Posted April 15, 2025 Posted April 15, 2025 Hi, this might already be resolved on the 4.9 beta channel, but I think you can fix this in 4.8 by using a valid language code on the right side.

Hi, luke, i have test in on emby server beta 4.9.0.48, and the problem i mentioned above still exist, it seems still sets language 'Ossetian' from the 'OSS' in beginning filename. Luke 42078 Posted April 19, 2025 Posted April 19, 2025 Because this is not a valid language code: Chinese(NewMov字幕组) So fix that and then your problem should be solved. For example you could set it to zh-cn or whatever you need.

Hi luke, use iso language code such as 'movie.zh-CN.mkv' 'movie.en.mkv' did display the right language name, but what about the "Other Names" in wiki, even when following the same naming scheme as the wiki case, emby doesn't display the language names correctly. other-names emby server beta 4.9.0.49 Quote OSS.117.Cairo.Nest.of.Spies.2006 ├── OSS.117.Cairo.Nest.of.Spies.2006.1080p.BluRay.x264-HANDJOB.Chinese(伊甸园字幕组).srt ├── OSS.117.Cairo.Nest.of.Spies.2006.1080p.BluRay.x264-HANDJOB.English(Commentary).srt ├── OSS.117.Cairo.Nest.of.Spies.2006.1080p.BluRay.x264-HANDJOB.en(Commentary).srt ├── OSS.117.Cairo.Nest.of.Spies.2006.1080p.BluRay.x264-HANDJOB.mkv ├── OSS.117.Cairo.Nest.of.Spies.2006.1080p.BluRay.x264-HANDJOB.nfo └── OSS.117.Cairo.Nest.of.Spies.2006.1080p.BluRay.x264-HANDJOB.zh-CN(NewMov字幕组).srt
Solution Luke 42078 Posted April 20, 2025 Solution Posted April 20, 2025 OK what we can do is split it on the '(' character and check the part before that for the language. But I would suggest using the language code rather than the language name, because some languages have more than one variations. But also, while we can handle parsing the language with the (, if you want to actually see Commentary in the user interface, then it should be: home alone.en.commentary.srt

Perhaps the relevant part of the wiki needs to be modified, as its case cannot be reproduced. 1
