Teddy 100 Posted April 10, 2025 Posted April 10, 2025 (edited) I want to get all my movie metadata from MobieDB, since I usually modify the data there to get the metadata in Spanish, but since IMDb is the first option, it gets the metadata in English. Is it possible to disable IMDb somehow so it only gets the metadata from MovieDB? In short, the only option to take the metadata is from MovieDB. Edited April 10, 2025 by Teddy
Lessaj 467 Posted April 10, 2025 Posted April 10, 2025 (edited) Emby does not get metadata from IMDB, but other metadata providers such as MovieDB may have the IMDB ID so it gets added from that provider. What metadata downloaders are enabled on your library and in what order? Edited April 10, 2025 by Lessaj
Teddy 100 Posted April 10, 2025 Author Posted April 10, 2025 I can't disable access to IMdb in libraries, so I'm asking how I can do it.
Lessaj 467 Posted April 10, 2025 Posted April 10, 2025 Again, it's not pulling any data from IMDB, it's simply getting the ID from another metadata provider so you have an IMDB link on the item detail page, nothing else. Based on what you've provided you should drag TheMovieDb to the top because you have OMDB as the first option so it's getting information from there first, and then it should search TheMovieDb for any remaining missing data, so if OMDB doesn't have a spanish description but it does have an english description I don't believe that it will get a description from TheMovieDb even if it has one in spanish because it already pulled the english description from OMDB so that field isn't "missing". Then refresh metadata (replace all data) on the item(s) that have incorrect metadata and it should replace it with data from TheMovieDb.
Teddy 100 Posted April 10, 2025 Author Posted April 10, 2025 (edited) Thanks for your support Lessaj, but I still don't understand much. If I have TMDB as my first option and the synopsis is in English, when it retrieves the data it comes out in English. I'm going to try changing the Emby language from English to Spanish in case it might affect it. Edited April 10, 2025 by Teddy
Solution Teddy 100 Posted April 10, 2025 Author Solution Posted April 10, 2025 Lessaj, I changed Emby's language to Spanish, updated the metadata again, and it's now available in Spanish. It seems Emby uses the GUI language in some way. Thank you very much for your help. 1
Lessaj 467 Posted April 11, 2025 Posted April 11, 2025 (edited) Yes the language you have set is also important for what it pulls. Glad you got it sorted. EDIT: To be clear for others, this setting under the options for the library. Edited April 11, 2025 by Lessaj 1

But Open Movie Database is English only, so you might want to move that to a lower priority or disable it. 1
