Betonhaus 18 Posted April 2, 2025 Posted April 2, 2025 (edited) I don't know if I have permission to post a 10 second video of the 100 girlfriends anime demonstrating it, but if there's a lot of subtitlessuch as when translating text then the video becomes a slideshow with very stuttering audio . Is there a way to fix this? I do have an Intel Arc a310 in my server Edited April 2, 2025 by Betonhaus
Luke 42077 Posted April 2, 2025 Posted April 2, 2025 Hi there, let's look at an example. Please attach the information requested in how to report a media playback issue. Thanks!
Solution Betonhaus 18 Posted April 5, 2025 Author Solution Posted April 5, 2025 it seems to have fixed itsely. I thought it was Emby not liking 4k tvs even when the video was 1080p but it somehow slowly started fixing itself. first the audio and subtitles would play properly while the video became a slideshow (it was an opening song so it was fine) then after a few episodes it got better and better and now it seems to be running at full speed. Emby did crash a few times during that but it seems to be better now. 1
Betonhaus 18 Posted April 9, 2025 Author Posted April 9, 2025 As far as I can tell it's when the tv is 4k. Seems Emby takes the 1080p video and tries to overlay subtitles in 4k, but getting a big performance hit when there are a lot of animated subtitles. I'm guessing if it renders the subtitles in 1080p it wouldn't be so bad as the 1080p tv in the other room doesn't have this issue. 1
RanmaCanada 494 Posted April 18, 2025 Posted April 18, 2025 The reason it becomes a slideshow is because your player is no where near powerful enough to render the subs in real time. Burning in the subs is the preferred method when there is a crap load of text on the screen.
