Hi,

Need to update the emby connect email for my main admin user I use always. I have updated my email on my profile on emby.media/community/ successfully.

Now on Emby server for windows, I cannot change the users emby connect email on the emby servers configuration users section (see attached), I have error scrolling in from the bottom of the screen when I try to apply the new email 'The Emby Connect user is already linked to another user on this server.'

There are no other users on this server using this new email.

Worth noting im logged in to the emby server configuration page as the 'mce' user I'm trying update the emby connect email for.
I've restarted emby server and tried again, didn't help.

If you try to login through Connect with that email, are you getting any servers listed or does it connect automatically? If yes, on server select screen: right-cluck>Forget server, which will unlik said user from the server and you should be able to re-link it to desired user.

If I login to emby connect with the old email it gives me a 'Sign In Error
Invalid username or password. Please try again.'
If I try the new email, it logs in and I can see my server.

Seems like emby connect is working with the new email and routing me to my server, but the server config page itself is stuck on the old email.

Hi there, please attach the emby server log from when the problem occurred:

Thanks.

Sure Luke, please find attached.

From the log:

This connect user is already linked to local user mce

So check that user.

The background of that box is light blue, I think your browser might be filling in the credentials. Try in another browser or maybe in incognito and see if it looks different.

Yes as mentioned in my original post, the user mce, I am logged into configure emby server backend and it had my original/old emby Connect email on it and I am trying to change it to the new email.

It hasn't changed because if I reload this users configuration page it still shows my old email.

Ok, as advised before: select server screen>Delete server>re-link.

Blanking out Connect feld>Save on that local user should accomplish same.

Either of those two should do it. You don't need to do both.

Hi, I think I fixed it by simply removing the old email address from the user account, saving it, which prompted a message that emby connect has been removed from that user. Then adding in the new correct email address. Looks fixed.
Thanks for your prompt support though.

I can confirm this is exactly what happened to me as well. Couldn’t update the emby connect email address unless I removed the current one, saved, then added the new email, and saved again.
