Backup and Restore, dont get to choose (Premiere)

Hi, again

Went for a total restore of my server, and of course have a backup with built in Backup and Restore app.
Backup is set to: metadata/library and metadata/people.

But as I try to restore, I'll get
1: Restore from backup: Inside here the is no more choice than witch backup.
2: Extract data from backup: There I have the choice to select my users. That is good, but did not work. Tried no user come up, nor after restart.

I don't get any options on what to restore, as told in the text. Don't get any screen with things to choose from.
 

So what I want to, is, restore my users incl the watch state etc. And rebuild my library from scratch. Is this possible?
Reason, things would just not work as i should anymore, as asked in other thread with movies don't get found etc. Went all nuts an start from scratch. 

Any help would be appreciated

Hi, on the new server did you configure the location for your backups?

Yes I did. As far as I understand is the only way of getting the choice to recover.

I get the choice of witch backup, time vice, but not what to recover.

Right there isn’t a choice. It is either a full restore or you can click the button to extract user data only.

OK, then I understand.  User data, is that watch state and that kind of stuff?

My interpretation of the text, was that the would be a little bit more choices or something.
It's just nok clear to mw what I get from that two choices.

For my situation right now, I wanted everything except my DB, as I want to rebuild it.
As I think that is what destroys my setup..

yes that is correct.

Thanks for the clarification.

I will just point out, that I tried that, and the users did not show up. Not after a restart of server neither. 
Had to go the total restore.

It restores user data, not users, so you have to have the users in place first.

It would be better if it restores the users not just the data.
Or else we have to write down all user info (username/password(should we even now there password)) when we make the users.
They have to be exactly i copy I will belive?

Not to be cruel, but think the backup and restore function need a little bit more ex in the help pages

Right that is what the full restore is for. The problem is that as the server features have grown, and as more parts of the system become integrated with each other, it's harder to have slice and dice selective restores and still retain data integrity.

That I can understand.
Maybe just the choice to not restore the movie/tv-show DB would be great.

But if it is not possible, then it isn't.
