KayDox64 1 Posted February 20, 2025 Posted February 20, 2025 I made an oopsie the other day and made my boot drive with my emby server and my media unbootable. It's not a big deal, I just installed Linux Mint onto a smaller SSD and now I can access all my files from the old boot drive on this new install of Linux. I installed emby and pointed it to my old drive's library folder, and now it's scanning just fine. The ONLY thing I wanna know is if there is a way I can migrate the config settings from my old emby install to this new one. Specifically Users, I don't want to remake every user, and theoretically I COULD just drag and drop the old files into the new install right?
KayDox64 1 Posted February 20, 2025 Author Posted February 20, 2025 I should mention, that everything has been named the SAME thing as it was named in the old install, to the admin user is still MediaServer, the librarys have the same names, and the computer itself has the same name.
Luke 42077 Posted February 20, 2025 Posted February 20, 2025 Hi there, have you taken a look at this? Configuration Backup

Solution Lessaj 467 Posted February 20, 2025 Solution Posted February 20, 2025 You should be able to copy the entire /var/lib/emby folder over, just make sure it's still owned by the emby user/group in case the UID/GID is different. 1
