How to force autologoff on account and make PIN work

Hello everyone.

I am new to Emby, I have installed the server on a Raspberry Pi and installed the app on a Samsung Smart TV (UE49KU6400).

I wanted to know if there is any way to trigger an autologoff of the last user, currently we have 2 accounts (adults without any restrictions and with password - children account without password and access to 2 folders nothing more). I have unchecked the “remember me” option but I have to completely exit the application for the session to be closed.

Then I have also configured (from a web browser) the PIN but on the TV it always asks me for a password, it does not ask for a PIN, what should I do to enable the PIN on the TV?

Thank you very much.

Regards

What version of the app are you using?

This is the right question.  The KU model will be running an old version if the app is from the store as the last release for that model was prior to PIN support being added.

You can try the USB Beta version which has PIN support, but it will expire after 30 days.   You can use it as a test to see if it resolves your issue, then revert back to the store version after 30 days when it expires or you can update it via USB every 30 days to keep up with the latest version and all current changes.

BTW, this will still require you to Exit the app, but you will be able to 'Remember me' and then it will prompt for a PIN each time that user logs in

Okay, that version is very old.  PIN support was added in the Samsung app version 1.6.5 and Emby server 4.8.

Unfortunately, Samsung no longer tests Emby app updates for TVs once they reach 5 years of age.  You will need to load the latest usb version if you want PIN support.  See the pinned post for instructions and links to download the app if that's what you want.
